Default New Year cleansing

So It's the new year and I thought I would start off the year with a "clean slate". I have been thinking about doing a Herbal cleansing on the ol' system and was wondering if anybody has done this before?

Any suggestions on products or anything would be welcome

McDonalds always cleans me out...but heres the real scoop.

Years ago I decided for various reasons to give that a go. I went to a reputed clinic...I think it was the Wild Rose Clinic on Kensington for info re doing this. They assured me it was a good idea and gave me ideas of who's system to use.
I chose a reputed name and cleansed. No big issue other than enduring the BS that you go through. The biggest issue is when you go back to a normal lifestyle. If you are a Vegan or Vegitarian you might be ok...but if you like the odd burger or if you do business lunches it is a big mistake. Your body will NOT like the fact that after years of building up resistance to certain things, and then cleaning them out, the first few times eating....ahem...outside food...your body will not treat you well. I have yakked at many people over the years and it appears I am not alone in this. IF you do cleanse...ensure that you take SMALL doses of outside restaraunt food for awhile afterwards or you might end up in a Diahriac explosion...or worse.

Best to just go workout real hard for awhile.

I've never done it but am considering it also. A buddy of mine says it works well. It's 10 days so that would suck but he said he lost 10 pounds while on the cleanse and was on the right track to lose another 20 with a little excersize and watching the booze intake. He also claims it's much easier to get drunk aftwerwards. hmm?

He bought his for $200, but it seems like some Pyramid company. I've seen them at health stores for $50. I don't know enough about them to be able to tell the difference though.

Really guys...be careful with this. It is NOT a weight loss treatment and shouldnt be used as such. Go to a nutritionist or a reputed business that deals with this sort of thing. I think the Wild Rose clinic still exists and is one of the best in North America for this type of thing. Dont just buy an off the shelf product...its too risky.

edit..yep it exists....call these guys.

LOL, is Dr Nick at this clinic too?

....is a certified Angel Therapy Practitioner, trained in Hawaii by Dr. Doreen Virtue, PhD., and she leads the Spiritual Counselor Diploma Program, which is based on the teachings in “A Course in Miracles”. Her life’s purpose is to bring people closer to their angels, their higher-self and God. She receives healing messages from your angels and “spiritual team“, and will teach you how Divine guidance looks, feels and sounds.

Quick, let's get Marchment off to this clinic, maybe his angels are out of alignment...

Or sign Cheese up for an appt ;-)

Oh man... I get to go in for a colonoscopy twice every three years.... There's a little bottle of 'lemon lime' flavoured laxative we're supposed to put in clear fluid... drink that and you'll never drink Sprite again. It'll clean you out though.

yup just be careful...really especially if you do eat crap food from time to time. It does throw your system out of whack for awhile.

As a matter of factly - your bowels are filled with poo and rotting foods... A lot of wieght loss is from your body pushing out the poo and rotting foods.
John Candy had 60 pounds in is intestine when he died.

I cleans once a year.
The wild rose is a great cleans - do it right or don't do it at all. It has a list of what to eat and what not to eat.

No wheat/dairy/or sugar. ---> 12 day's later slowly introduce other foods. Great product - you may feel like you have a cold when you start - the first 4 days are the worst. Good luck!

The Herbal Minefield:

http://www.quackwatch.org/01Quackery...ics/herbs.html

Americans are now spending billions of dollars per year for capsules, tablets, bulk herbs, and herbal teas. Although many of these items are consumed for their flavor, most are probably used for supposed medicinal qualities. Sales by multilevel distributors and pharmacies amount to hundreds of millions more for products that are obviously intended for self-medication. Herbs are also marketed by naturopaths, acupuncturists, iridologists, chiropractors, and unlicensed herbalists, many of whom prescribe them for the entire gamut of health problems. Many such practitioners are not qualified to make appropriate medical diagnoses or to determine how the products they prescribe compare to proven drugs.

Cheese; I'm suprised that someone who is so skeptical of religion, can't look at natural healing with the same critical eye.

Just get back into a healthy lifestyle after the holidays. Eat right, exercise, drink plenty of water and your body will cleanse itself.

Trust me..I do not condone this at all...but it seems he has his mind set. If thats the case then go to a place that specializes...even though it is tossing your money away.
