Yeah they said they're going to the Google Chrome model with lots of frequent smaller releases rather than infrequent large ones. I think I read they'd be at version 8 or 9 by the end of the year.

Ahh ok, that makes sense. I wonder if they can do it transparently like the way Google does it? The only time I ever realize Chrome's been updated is when I see something new in a menu or something.

I hope it doesn't suck as bad as FF4. I switched to Chrome because FF4 for Mac would crash constantly.

I haven't used FF since one of the first iterations, but I'm not going to let that stop me from deeming this inferior to my preferred browser.

Why'd you move off Opera?

FF seemed to perform better overall and was faster for me. Also, some pages just were not being rendered properly with Opera for me.

Damn, it was your post that got me using Opera and I haven't looked back since. The browsing experience seems a lot better than Firefox, it feels more smooth transition from page to page where as Firefox seems really clunky.

One should never update to the newest Firefox immediately, because it takes time for the plugins to get updated and bug-checked; and after all, if it wasn't for the plugin scene, Firefox wouldn't be so popular.
Actually, one should never update any large pieces of software on the first week of the update release, unless you're ready to do some bug reports. After Civ V I've also concluded that I won't be buying any games fresh either, it's just so much better after the first updates that playing before that was a waste of time.
I'll propably wait a couple of months before updating FF. I'm pretty happy with FF4 anyway, so there's no rush.

Exactly the same for me. I got so fed up with FF4 and won't switch back.

I've been using FireFox4 on and off for the Mac and I had never-ending crashes as well, though I think it was the Firebug plugin causing them.

Chrome's my go-to. I don't think I could go back to a non-webkit browser.
Firefox is my main dev browser, because Firebug makes my life very, very easy.

FF5 has fixed a bunch of issues I was having in v4. Can't wait to see what issues crop up for me in v5 now.

I've been using FF4 on my iMac and I haven't seen it crash. I wish it would, because then I can find reasons to get rid of my iMac (it is a work PC). I also use FF4 at home, but I don't think I'll jump to FF5 just yet. I've tried chrome and it wasn't for me. Their is no right or wrong answer as to which browser a person should use. It all depends on their browsing needs and preferences.

Opera baby. Opera!
Opera basically invented all the things modern browsers are copying. Things people take for granted like tabbed browsing, mouse gestures, quick dial main page, etc.
Firefox is getting so bloated and slow, I'll never touch it again. If I need another browser, I keep Chrome around because I find Google's apps work better with it and have more functionality. Opera for everything else.
