I like it, and I think it looks really nice. I like having the PMs on one side, I just wish on the other they went with prominent Canadians who did inspirational and exceptional things like John McRae for example (purposefully not mentioning more names here for fear that it'll just turn into an argument about who's worthy!).
I remember when the current $10 notes came out. I went to my bank at five minutes after 10:00am that very morning and asked for five $10 bills in exchange for a fifty, and the lady handed me five old ones and I said, "no, no, no. I'd like some of the new ones" with, in retrospect, the biggest dork-grin on my face, I imagine. I honestly didn't think she knew what I was talking about, but the bank was dead and someone else over heard and brought some out. And we all examined them and chatted about them for a moment.
So if it's polymer, does that mean they don't wrinkle since it's plastic? I think they're pretty cool looking too. And if they last as long as coins do, then I think it's worth it in the long run.
If it lasts as long as coins can we get rid of the toonie and bring back the $2 dollar bill?

And Canada will take one more step ahead of the US in terms of currency production (I hate their 1 dollar bills)
I hate their currency in general, it feels like monopoly money. That and its all the same colour. Being hammered at the bar down there and having $1's look the same as $20's & over is dangerous.

If you liked the slick feel of the $100 bill, just wait until you get your hands on the $50.
The Bank of Canada is tossing a new polymer bank note into circulation Monday, the latest instalment in the nation's shift to plastic currency.

Anyone know if the $50's will have a smell as well?
