Alex Smith says he is pretty sure he is going to re-sign with the Niners when(if) the season ever starts back up.
I'm OK with that. Especially with an abbreviated training camp, Kaepernick (I'm going to need to get used to spelling that) will get some time to learn the playbook and the NFL game.

Players attorneys ramping up the verbage if nothing else.
Quote:
The players face immediate, continuing, severe irreparable injury from unlawful conduct orchestrated to force them to re-unionize against their will and make immense financial concessions," the players' attorneys wrote. "The NFL, by contrast, claims only a temporary loss of leverage by members of a cartel that is no longer entitled to any exemption from the antitrust laws."

49ers beat writers are shocked. Even the writers who have been hammering Alex Smith for years are saying that he is showing a fire they have never seen before. Smith is acting every bit the leader of the team. The mini-camp he set up today (which has been dubbed "Camp Alex") he kicked the reporters out, organized a classroom session with video and white-board, then ran a practice.
The reporters were pissed they were barred, but they all seemed to be genuinely impressed by Smith.

Yeah...rumblings around here that i heard yesterday that this thing could almost be finished right now with some things to iron out that arent deal-breakers. July 4th or sooner was the refrain.

Interesting.
Quote:
Anschutz Entertainment Group President and CEO Tim Leiweke has spoken with representatives from the Minnesota Vikings, San Diego Chargers, Oakland Raiders, St. Louis Rams and Jacksonville Jaguars, company spokesman Michael Roth told The Associated Press.
Leiweke said all those teams are "in the mix," but conceded, "We're not packing any (moving) vans right now," according to the Orange County Register, which was first to report on the talks.
The most recent discussion took place a week ago, said Leiweke, who didn't specify which team was involved.
Leiweke also told the Register that AEG owner Philip Anschutz was prepared to acquire a majority stake in an NFL team that would play at the proposed venue and that the company was willing to pay for a team to get out of its current lease.

Maybe it's not all Brandon Marshall that is causing all the crazy.

Man I hope so. My biggest fear right now is of the Saints/Packers kick-off game being cancelled. I'm so pumped for that game.

Saints off season:
Packers off season:
The Saints wake up call came in the playoffs in Seattle, the Packers get theirs in week 1...
The Super Bowl hangover is real, I can't imagine how tough it will be with no real preseason.

And the lawyers have re-joined the negotiations.

I can't wait to see that bottom picture happen 200+ times next season, nice to finally have a real N/S back on the roster since Deuce. I just pray he doesn't get injured, especially after what happened to us at that position last year. What a mess.
As for the above picture, maan has Jimmy Graham put on some muscle! I think he's gonna absolutely explode next year (if there is a next year).

Let's not talk about the Vikings offseason.
I hate this lockout. Let's hope it doesn't last much longer.
