It looks like the school isn't going to be disabling wifi, and rightfully so.
Quote:
There's no evidence to show Wi-Fi harms children, said the board's director of education, John Dance.
"There's been a lot of information, but there's nothing definitive that says wireless is causing the issues, so the board affirmed its decision for wireless communications in our schools," he said.
"There's been nothing to this point along the lines of medical evidence to say that any illnesses or whatever have been caused by wireless communications."

I thought homework gave kids headaches and made them sick? Hasn't that always been the case?

These news stories also highlight the need for greater public education in critical thinking. These parents mean well, they are just falling victim to poor critical thinking skills. The news report also indicates that the school board has been largely ignoring them, which is not a good strategy. Professionals and regulators also need to learn how to deal with the public over such issues.
What we have here are the seeds of yet another grassroots movement that is disconnected from science and hostile to authority. This is a scenario we have seen played out many times before, and no doubt we will see it many times again.
|
Just wanted to highlight that, cause we all know with this wifi crap that its "here we go again......."

All the weak children that die from a little radiation are just going to hold the world back anyway, IMHO. Harvest the good organs and burn the rest.

Of course, Thor also has a point in that there could be other things involved like toxic mold, bacteria, etc, etc.

I've lost more faith in humanity after reading some of the media quotes posted here. I hang my head in shame.
What's the difference between 2.4GHz cordless phones and wifi?

The sharp edges on the digital signal in wi-fi do the actual damage, cordless phones carry your voice which is a smooth waveform.

great quote from this article:
http://www.simcoe.com/community/barr...article/862974
“I can tolerate people’s eccentricities for a while. I can wait while people vent about perceived injustices for hours on end. I can sit by and let some folks try to salvage their long lost credibility for a bit. But at the end of the day, sometimes you just have to look people squarely in the eyes and tell them, ‘I’m sorry, you’re wrong.’”

I only feel sorry for the kids who are going to get homeschooled now. Homeschooling should be illegal IMHO. There is no accreditation system for the parents and it probably does a horrible disservice to the mental and social development of their children.

To immediately outrule constantly being irradiated by electro-magnetic pulses as a possible health hazard without doing significant research shows extreme stupidity in my opinion. .

I was going to ask you a rhetorical question, but I won't - you obviously have not even a distant notion of what "electro-magnetic pulses" really are.
Your post betrays your lack of trust in science, apologetic attitude towards "skeptical" anti-science, and general scientific ignorance.
