Police narrowly foil plot to kill singer Joss Stone with swords

Two men from Manchester are being held on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and to rob after being arrested near the Devon home of singer Joss Stone.
The men, aged 33 and 30, were arrested after a suspicious vehicle was seen in the Cullompton area on Monday.
BBC South West Home Affairs Correspondent Simon Hall said a senior police source confirmed they were found with swords, forensic-style overalls and a body bag.

Well, you're definitely in the lead for "Week's oddest story".
Not too make light of a dangerous situation, I think its pretty hilarious that these two fools were going to use swords.......why not something more impractical? Couldn't get a couple of pikes or halberds? Were they planning to storm the keep?

A lot of reports now say the swords would be used to kidnap her rather than kill her, so maybe there would have been no sword in the Stone after all.
