im not saying she isnt stupid and im not saying those that follow US politics dont have ample evidence of her being stupid.

i am saying that it has now become pop culture to simply state she is stupid as if to sound like you know what you are talking about! i have heard it plenty of times and each time i ask, oh ya, why do you think so, and in most cases I get the typical "cuz".

like they know Pailin, her politics and her intelligence because they seen Tina Fey do a skit.
Sarah Palin is this type person who you are describing.

And yes, people like that are annoying.

Your points not being lost, I just don't understand the relevance. No one here is spouting baseless 'in vogue' opinions.

Second paragraph - blatantly false. Obama is far from competent, doesn't understand simple concepts, historically ignorant, and clueless, dangerously so, on both domestic and world politics. Period. If Britain hasn't figured that out yet (regardless of their distraction with a polarizing celebrity figure who currently holds no office and is not running for one), they're slowly getting the picture.
Umm, if it was passed by "unanimous consent" does that not mean that Canada (and Harper) signed as well?

I suggest you talk to different people, then. There are numerous posters on this very forum who can articulately describe very specific reasons to support the claim that Palin is stupid and incompetent.

Maybe you need to hang around with smarter people. Once something has reached the level of "cliche" as you put it there is a large degree of truth behind the assertion and it is simpler to state the cliche than enumerate the numerous instances that support the position.

I would be far more interested in samples of her thoughts or speeches that would, in any way, indicate she is anything other than a poster person for the radical right who is fed lines and then regurgitates them out to her followers.

It's ridiculously simple to argue that he has been abyssmal in his foreign policy.

Is there anything other than rhetoric and failure to suggest otherwise?

And I didn't call Obama dumb; I called him ignorant.

My opinion is, it's cliched to say George Bush is dumb (I still think the guy isn't as dumb as people think, he just puts on a facade so people would underestimate him), but I really don't get that same type of feeling with Palin. She really comes off as someone who has no clue about world events. She's good at posing in front of cameras and repeating the same nonsense over and over again. If she's not dumb, she's one helluva actress, that's for sure.

Hilar.

The Sklar brothers tweeted that the Beastie Boys version of Paul Revere was more historically accurate than Palins account.

Zuluking, can you cite specific examples that would lead someone to believe Obama is "far from competent, doesn't understand simple concepts, historically ignorant, and clueless, dangerously so, on both domestic and world politics." I ask because I've worked in Washington and not even his biggest detractors there make these claims. They may not agree with his politics, but to say he doesn't understand simple concepts (essentially calling him dumb) is a stretch that I've yet to see anyone make, until now.
