Man thanks for the tip! Keeping in mind I rarely use butter or mayo.....Costco does have a really good Thai Chili sauce that's awesome on wraps too however it's sodium content is a little higher than I'd like it to be. I just make sure I don't add salt to my chicken.

Isn't thai chili sauce 80 percent sugar or something crazy like that?

It is amazing how much sugar there are in things you wouldn't really think there to be. Premade BBQ sauce is guilty of this as well.

No problem. I go through the stuff like crazy. In true Costco fashion you get 4 containers of it for 7 or 8 bucks I think it is. It's on the fridge shelves beside the produce cooler.

Ya it has a lot of sugar but I'm not really trying to lose weight. Additionally when you put it on a wrap you really don't need much. 1 bottle of that stuff lasts me like 8 months.

I just trashed my chicken boxes so I won't know about sodium on them. From quick google I would guess 500 from salsa and 250 from chicken breast lettuce shouldn't have any.

Sodium should be the least of your worries. If you are taking in lots of sodium just drink more water and you will piss it out and you don't have to worry.

With two meals a day of chicken salsa salad and 3 protein shakes puts me at about 1800 mgs which is slightly high of reccommend but I drink 3 litres of water usually a day so it doesn't worry me.

Last night I jumped on the gym scale and it said 175! 10 more lbs to go!

How many calories should a 25-26 year old have per day while on a diet (Not really a diet, diets are temporary...)

Also is there anything wrong with drinking excess water? I found out that what I consider 8-10 glasses a day is really more like 12-16 Glasses. It appears harder to reach my daily goals when I gotta lose 2-3 Lbs of water each workout, but maybe im just paranoid.

The more water you drink the better! And I believe you should be around the 1500 calorie mark. Really depends on your size though lots of calculators on the internet if you google and plug in your personal info

A few months ago I tried to adjust my eating habbits and eat healthier. Since then I've cut down on alcohol, eaten more fruit and veggies on a regular basis and tried to eat more frequent smaller meals.

I'm now looking to add some physical activity. Proabably just running on the treadmill for now.

My idea weight is probably somewhere between 160-175 and I'm currently at about 190-200.

light weight work out 2-3 times a week for 15-20 mins will do more for your body then just treadmill running unless you are doing interval sprints

Yep, just treadmill running isn't a bad thing, it's much better than nothing, but you can get much better overall results by adding some pretty easy weight workouts into the mix. I was doing a lot of typical cardio for a while, treadmill/bike/eliptical etc. and not seeing a whoe lot of results. Switched to doing pretty much exclusively kettlebell and explosive movement type exercises a couple of months back and despite not being as disciplined as I should be in terms of frequency I've added significant strength, dropped a couple pants sizes and actually enjoy going to the gym.

For sure don't get me wrong doing anything is better then nothing but personally if I was just going to do straight cardio hit the bike and watch a movie/sports more enjoyable and relaxing and you can have it program interval/hill workouts that will do more for you then grinding it on on the treadmill.

I'm going to share this and hope that people don't jump all over me by saying how unhealthy it is, but I consume 1200-1400 calories per day as a 212 pound man. I work out 6 days a week, alternating between weight training and cardio. I also walk a little more than 2 1/2 miles per night.

I have been keeping to that for the past 6 months. My body has not gone into starvation mode, as I lose on average 2-3 pounds per week. Now, I am pretty sure that I have a lower metabolic rate than average for a man my age, height, and weight...so I wouldn't go out and recommend my caloric intake to everyone.

I use www.caloriesperhour.com quite a bit, and they also have a formula for calculating your resting metabolic rate and basal metabolic rate. (direct link to the formulas http://www.caloriesperhour.com/tutorial_BMR.php) You can then multiply by your general activity level, or use their other calculators to keep a complete track of your activities (running, walking, etc.) to find out what you are burning in a day compared to what you are taking in.

I really shouldn't even say this, as I have no desire to defend this argument, but for the most part "starvation mode" is a great big myth.

I can agree with this to a degree. There are extreme circumstances where I am sure there is a time where your body stores away everything because it is not being fueled in regular intervals. I'm not so sure about a minimum calorie intake as much as I am about eating regularly (at least 2-3 times a day).

I have an uncle in his mid 50's who has a pretty physically demanding job, but he only eats once a day...and it is a big meal. He is a pretty overweight individual considering the work he does, and I think it has a lot to do with his eating habits. He doesn't necessarily eat a bunch of bad stuff, he just doesn't fuel his body on a regular enough basis throughout the day.

This is all theory, but eating one huge meal a day doesn't seem like the healthiest pattern.

It's not theory that small portions through out the day are better than one huge meal, it's science. And it's been proven by anyone that's successfully lost weight.

I've been following this site's advice for a few months with amazing results. I'm not arguing with the quoted post ... but I now believe the concept of 'six-seven small meals a day' is also myth. Perhaps 'myth' is too strong of a word ... but definitely 'unnecessary'. Plenty of science referenced in his posts too if anyone cares to dig deeper.

I've gone back to eating three regular meals a day, with the biggest meal after my workout. All meals are consumed in an 8 hour window followed by 16 hours of 'fasting'. I've experienced my best results in years after switching to this method of eating a few months ago.
