Default Lease Transfer

My sister would like to take over my lease on my vehicle when I end up overseas, I just wanted to see what the CP input on this topic might be.

Is it a fairly painless process or are there fees generally involved? Do leases transfer over easily? Any other possible solutions out there that our creative collective could think of?

It's fairly expensive to do if I recall. If you trust her, just get the payments to come out of her account, but leave your name on there. Good work though, getting out of leases is usually a pain where you have to pay the other person a decent amount to make up for the fact they are making the same payments you were on a brand new car. Often you end up having to buy them out and sell the car.

... and make sure you emphasize how happy you would be to get another lease with them after this one AS LONG AS they make this process painless and FREE...

Why not tell them you're a free man on the land and their "rules" don't apply to you?

Depends what make the vehicle is, but GM financing charges $450 to to a lease or financing transfer. Fairly simple process though. Took us a few weeks to get done, but it was easy.
