Your @me email will almost certainly transfer across. It's trivially easy to support multiple email domains (which is why @mac.com still works too for those of use that have had iTools/.Mac/MobileMe for a while.

The web hosting is a good question, that's something I take advantage of too on occasion.

Did they make any mention of photo galleries? That's the other piece I use frequently

So this iCloud thing....if I'm taking alot of pics on my iPhone and it automatically goes to the cloud, wont this eat up my data plan if I'm not in a WiFi area?

I suppose it would be able to be turned off or set to WiFi only ?

iCloud is live in Canada for Books and Apps.

Turn on auto downloads in settings and you're set.

There's an option to use 3G or just wifi.

Also cool... with iOS 5 the LED light will be used for notifications.

OS X Lion

• You can launch the Camera app from your lock screen by double tapping the home button, then tapping the camera button, even if you have a passcode set.
• You can take pictures using the Increase Volume button.
• There are optional gridlines to help align your photo, and can now pinch to zoom.
• Auto exposure and auto focus lock have been added to the camera app, just tap and hold to activate.
• Photo editing is now available on the iPhone and iPad, with crop and rotate, red-eye removal and one-click enhancement.

This lawyer is not very computer savvy.

Air Drop is not that much different than a chat program where you can send files. Nothing new here besides how you contact the other party.

Ad blockers have been around forever, plus you can block images, scripts etc in the browser. Why is he bringing this up now?

iTunes match is a paid service. You are buying the music you pirated. Labels get most of that money. How can they sue you for it then?

The LED is quite bright, I imagine it won't be that hard to see. I wonder if the next phone will have a tiny light on the front?

My favorite feature not mentioned yesterday? You can drop your electronic signature into a pdf by signing a piece of paper and holding it up to the iSight camera. It'll scan it for you and drop the image in for you to position.

Not sure why I feel the need to defend the author but he didn't say Air Drop is any different from what is already available. He didn't even say this was likely to lead to liability on the part of Apple.

My guess is that adblockers are not installed, by default, on any web browser to date. Now, Safari is basically building that feature in and making it available to presumably a wider number of people than those who had already installed an adblocker. Also, in the past browser producers would probably not be liable for the third-party add-on installed by the user. Now with that capability built right in, Apple is a potential defendant if a plaintiff brought a law suit of that nature.

The gist of the author's comments regarding iTunes Match was the program would have access to your iTunes library to scan its contents and would be identifying files that were not purchased through the ITMS (read: possibly "pirated"). Not a huge deal if Apple guards that data properly but there is always the possibility of Apple being forced by court order to disclose that information to a rights holder in aid of a copyright infringement lawsuit.
