I'm waiting for the day where Steve Jobs says "we have a new feature, and I'm mildly interested in it". When he is ever not excited about it?

They'll never do the feature I really want; profiles for the iPad, so I can have different contact/mailbox/calendar/etc for each person that uses it. They want me to buy an iPad for everyone.

Great, as a server side programmer I'm now obsolete!

iCloud for photos is great though, getting pictures onto the iPad to show them is always such a hassle.

really looking forward to downloaded tunes being available on all other devices. Hopefully it's somewhat retroactive too.

What are the chances of being able to import your own music through iCloud so it's handled the same way

THIS.

If iCloud will only handle the ~10% of my music library purchased through the iTunes Store, it's useless to me. If I can upload my entire library, I'll gladly pay a monthly fee for the service.

Free, awesome.

So is Mobile Me gone then?
Can iCloud do the email/contacts sync etc for free? Any storage included?

Just saw this:
5GB of free storage for mail, docs, backups. Purchased music, apps, and books don't count towards that.

every other app seems to do that through the cloud, but studios may not like it? People can do it manually now, so It's not making any more copying happen. Just makes it easier, instead of bunring CDs on your computer, then hooking up each deveice to it, then copying them that way.

I am assuming that developer apps are going to help with the problem of your own music and videos. Airvideo iCloud anyone?

Yeah, I can see Apple not wanting to do it though because for their own music they don't have storage issues (only one copy of each song needs to be stored), while for people's own music libraries they'll have to have storage for each person (or fingerprint each one to deduplicate at least if they're smart).

Holy Fata...

I never thought they would do this!

iTunes Match Software will scan your tunes and match it up with those songs in the store. "We give that music the same benefits as music purchased in iTunes."
