A few thoughts come to mind (and yes I am pulling these numbers out of thin air):
 - We just moved a 80% chance of a solid NHLer for 2 x 20% chances... Math calls this a fail.

 - There should be more incentive (or disincentive) for a player to pull a d-bag move like this. IE, if he chooses not to sign a max-contract he should be sitting out of the draft for 2 years.

 - All that said, the one positive I see is that this will give us a chance to get some skill up front and re-stock the cupboards that ###### emptied.

I don't. I think he will be a very good player and I think he probably has more class then to pull a selfish stunt like Erixon did.

Erixon took the risk and won.

If he had been injured he would not have gotten a sniff of NHL bonus money.

unfortunately, in a hypothetical situation like this, it's not very common for the drafted player to be a little b**** about it.

Carson is a UFA, I think we can do better, even at league minimum.

Well at first I was angry.
Now looking at it more, I kind of like it. Still have our first, now have two seconds and maybe we can swing something nice at the draft.

If he didn't want to play here, fine....bring in someone who does.

To me, it actually sounds like Horak has loads of potential. Tim Erixon's value is based on the fact that he looks like he has a low floor and a higher likelihood of making it.

Horak sounds like the kind of prospect that boom or bust. High cieling, low floor and maybe only a 50/50 shot to make it.

I seriously wish all the worst too Tim erixon. I hope he never pans out as a NHL player, and ends up in the khl. You piece of trash you screwed us good. You will be nothing.

Yes, but my point was this.

I don't think Erixon did this because he detested the Flames organization, or the city.....he did it because he really wanted to play for the Rangers because of pressure from his family.

It's still not right, but I'm not taking it as personally as I was when this first broke.

I am increasingly convinced Sutter has no sence of players head space, he just assumed the players will all do as they are told and continue to perform to the peak that Sutter needs.

This isn't really that far off the Dion debacle, great kid on paper who doesn't pan out due to his mental make up.

Give it a rest man......Erixon screwed the Flames over and used them to go where he wanted. His agent deserves his % on this one...and he's a d-bag (dirtbag).

That's certainly a possibility. I mean, it sounds like Erixon's family was set on a Rangers career at one point and it may not have been figured into Sutter's calculations.
