Obviously you didn't watch the Habs play last season. Gomez was absolutely horrible.
That being said, it is probably the best time to lock the guy up cause there is no way he can continue in the decline he has been stuck in the last 2 seasons. Next year is make or break for Mr. Gomez; and I expect he will be back to form. If that happens it may give the Flames a bargain in years 2 and 3 of the contract.

Yep...he sucked in Montreal, and personally I cant stand the puke, but the SIM in the CPHL loves the guy. He is pure gold here.
I rarely compare NHL and CPHL, most times it simply leaves you disappointed.

The list serves a few different purposes for me. I've made a database of all teams rosters while the trading freeze was on. Any player that has been released from a team regardless of age now becomes a UFA.... since I'm also doing a huge thing for the upcoming free agency kepping track of such players helps me insure that any player that was a roster player during the freeze will be available in my Free Agency> I won't be concerning myself with non roster players because it's too much work but it's hard to draw the line at what other UFA are worth the effort.
Somehow I missed releasing him
