Default Bank Account for my Corporation

Anyone have experience in this area. I am with one lender and the fees on this see kind of unreasonable for the amount of banking i do. Any suggestions? I also want some customer service so no virtual banks. Tried that with a personal account and didn't really like it.

I think it depends very much on what you are looking to get. I do corporate banking with BMO. They have been good. I have no fees with a minimum balance. However, I don't have a lot of transactions. My specific account does not allow for many cash transactions.

welcome to business rates!

if find it a complete joke that just becuz i've got a business that i get "special" rates

- my biz phone cost 3x what my personal phone does for the same basic service
- my bank account cost 2-3x what my personal account does and i do waaaaaay less stuff on my biz account that my personal
- i work out of my house, and when we built i inquired about setting up/billing utilities to the business until they revealed that the rates were way higher

i have no problem paying for a particular service, but why should i be charged more if my business is the purchaser?

I totally agree, particularly on my cell phone. Friends have told me to keep the biz account for that because there are some good deals but I really think it just costs more money.

I have my corp account at TD.

If I keep a min balance ( which I do...) my fees are refunded each month.

I found out when I went to close my corporate account that I could have just had no plan at all and paid $1.50 per transaction, which for many months would have been much cheaper.

I have a business account through RBC and one through Canadian Western Bank. I prefer CWB - I think their rates are better and their service is better. As an example, I can view scans of cheques online through my CWB business account for free, but I have to pay $1.50 or something per cheque view with RBC business account. CWB also has a better track record of hiring good looking tellers.

My corporate account is with BMO and it's disguised as a personal account. Same with my cell phone. Didn't quite work out that way for my office phone lines.
