agreed and agreed. While I do have some that do mean stuff to me, its not everything. When you go get a tattoo it doesnt have to resemble an episode of LA ink with the tattooee crying over how significant it is. below is my left sleeve so far, I prefer to get tattooed in segments and piece it all together.

I also have my right sleeve, chest, shin done so far. once my TMNT sleeve is done I am going to be starting on my back. Most definitely a hobby for me now.

whoa, sorry about the creepy face haha.

I should give my artist some props duh, I get all of my work done by Mike Peace at Strangeworld Tattoos, its up by dalhousie train station. such a rad chill shop, none of that elitism you can find in other shops.

I get bored of my desktop wallpaper every 30 minutes. And I need to re-arrange all my furniture every 3 months. I guess that means a tattoo would be something I instantly regret as I cannot stand anything that I cannot easily change. The most body modification I would ever do is piercings that can be taken out.

Some of the only tattoos that I think actually look decent are full body tattoos that Yakuza have because it is intricate art that actually feels integrated into your entire body and not being something that feels out of place or having abrupt edges. I also like some of the Indian full body tattoo work. There are almost no western tattoos that I feel seem to fit or are tasteful.

you should only get a tattoo if its something you really want. i love my tattoo and i can't wait till i have time and money to get some more. i have my whole back done and loking forward to getting both my sleeves done over time.

if you have to ask yourself if you want one or why you want one, i don't think you should. should be something you want to get, know you want to get and won't have any regrets about it. tattoos are pretty permanent haha. good luck in your quest in getting one or not man.

and my tattoo artist is james tex - www.deadlytattoos.com he does great work

I don't think either of those things necessarily matter on a timescale measured in decades. A lot of people will always be happy with their tattoos, but a lot of people regret getting them, too. More and more tattoo removal places are sprouting up for a reason.

I have never seen a tattoo that has actually looked good on a person. Ever.

The reason is that there are people that say things like "Let's get a tattoo together. It would be so fun!" Then they go and pick something stupid off the wall of the first tattoo shop they walk into that has an artist available for walk-ins.

I don't have any ink myself, but my buddy Brian works at Big Johnson Ink in Inglewood and I think his work is outstanding.

I have two tiny ones. Here's one. I would like to get another one as well, but just small. I think they are a fun way to express yourself.

My half sleeve on my left arm. I researched Calgary artists for about 2 or 3 months before I decided who to go with. I have 5 Tattoos and 4 of them have been done by the good folks at Bushido. I have gotta Tattoos done by Doug, Trevor and Shawn(no longer at Bushido). I paid $125/hr to get this done and sat for about 9 or 10 hours total first session was the outline, second was blues and the lotus flowers, the third was the Koi. I also went in for one touch up session since my arm was actually pushing the red ink out when it was getting done.

I was quoted $400 for the entire sleeve by one place but after seeing his outstanding work thanks to a Polaroid flip book, I decided my wife with a paint by numbers tattoo set would do a better job. So do your research its there for life.

I would think there are more and more tattoo removal places because there are more and more people getting tattoos.

Not everyone gets a tattoo they are ultimately happy with, but that's true of anything in life. The fact that lots of people get divorced is a poor argument for not getting married. Really, the fact that more and more tattoo removal places are popping up is probably a good indicator that the arguments about permanent regrets with tattoos is worse than ever as removal options are more common and lower cost than before.

This looks really awesome. My only peeve with sleeve tattoos is the abrupt cutoff at the cuff that a lot of people have. It looks too artificial. I would have had the bottom edge more like the top edge at the shoulder where there is a natural creeping out of the design where the water splashes out. I understand the need to be able to wear short sleeves and a tattoo but I think that sleeve tattoos should only have a small portion reach that edge for a more natural transition.

I think some of you guys care a little too much about something that's not really a big deal. I mean, Mike Tyson made a big mistake with the facial tattoo, but then again, it's Mike Tyson. The rest of us normal people can get this or that, and it's not really going to be the cause of our downfall. If you really think that that little chinese symbol on your forearm that is supposed to mean serenity (but really means 'I suck dick for $5') is the reason you didn't get a job, then you're just stupid. But maybe it's not you guys I should be aiming this little rant at... Probably more at the vehemently against tattoos crowd. It's really not a big deal. It's a canada flag, or some barbed wire, or in my case, it's a small sun (it's on my shoulder because I love the sun on my shoulders). Really, who cares? My one buddy makes fun of me because it's not all big and manly like his tats. Lol. He also made fun of me when I bought a Tacoma. Girl's truck I guess.
What I really guess is that people that spend too much time hating other peoples' tattoos (I mean, we're not talking about American History X here, we're talking about all the guys that seem to really, really hate the fact that other people get tattoos and SOMEHOW, their life indeed goes on) are more choked at themselves for overthinking things that really aren't a big deal. It's just a tattoo. It might be a "life decision", but it's not quite the same as joining the mafia. I saw a guy at the bank the other day with ugly forearm tattoos that he probably got in the navy or something. We both left the bank at the same time and he got into a Lexus. I think he's doing ok, even though he has permanently defiled his body with an anchor on his arm. Meanwhile, I got into my Sierra. I have climbed the ladder from my "girl's truck" into a "man's truck", even though I have a dumb little sun on my shoulder.
Life goes on, apparently. And the one thing I really like about my tattoo is that it always reminds me of a time and a place that I probably would have long forgotten about otherwise.
So go and get your tattoos, people. And if this post happens to contradict anything I've written in the past, it's probably because people grow up over time, and the lucky ones realize that some drawing is just a drawing. If people think down about you because of it, well, who cares?

Now, I did once meet a dude with the worst tattoos ever. And I do think he has poor judgement entirely because of his tattoos. But why should he care what I think?

For the records, Mr. Cool Ice has no care for what you think.

Tattoo culture really highlightes personality differences among people for me...

I am just not the kind of person who would ever put a ninja turtle sleeve on myself. I don't think I will ever have a tattoo of any size...

I really think some people who put tatts on their face are shooting themselves in the foot in many ways they'll never know.....
