I'm pretty sure if Alberta's population was demographically adjusted you would find it no worse than other provinces. We're pretty much the only province with a median age below 40.

Yup and you can add to that the number of workers who work out of town. That makes a big difference in behaviour.

As many have said, it's absolutely because of the high transient worker population in the province. Globally, this is one of the indicators of increasing STIs.
