Could there possibly be any better soundtrack for storm chasing?

We have a Missouri Storm Shelter storm shelter in our garage. Last night, we replaced the various batteries that need to be replaced, got a supply of batteries in the shelter, got a few gallons of water in it, checked the expiry date on food, DVD player for the kids etc...

Look at the radar map and seeing how quickly the OK storms came into being this afternoon is quite something. Also a whole mess of stuff coming over the Colorado-Kansas border right now.
Locally they are backing off the severe thunderstorm warnings for the time being as it looks like much of the currently developed mess will pass north and south of us. We can only hope that remains the case. But there is a long time between now and midnight. Looking at the current warnings they have dropped Jasper county (Joplin and area) from everything but the flash flood warnings.
Fingers crossed but i expect we will catch some of it.
Stay safe everyone and remember that the sirens go off for a reason. Don't treat them as you would your fire alarm going off when you burn the toast. More and more that is the story in Joplin...people ignoring those sirens and just continuing to do what they were doing.

Was just talking with a good friend whose wife (a St. John's nurse) is on a triage team. He's been trying to comfort her on the phone today as it is now getting to the stage where they are lifting fallen concrete slabs of the businesses that were destroyed and finding several victims. Many of them children who were out shopping with their parents. It's going to be rough for a lot of these search and rescue and triage folks who were not trained to deal with something of this magnitude.
The thing we are really struggling with is how to tell our 4.5 year old daughter what happened and why she can no longer go to many of these places she loved to go. Right now it is simply because there was a storm.

Nothing in Wichita yet but a torrential downpour that lasted about 20 minutes. Seems the rotation is staying west of us. That stuff down Nicker's way will be moving toward us soon.
I have family just west of El Reno in Geary. Will have to pay close attention to the Blaine and Canadian county warnings tonight.

Not sure exactly where but I'm guessing that is Joplin.
FEMA count this afternoon has 8,000 structures that received damage over 1800 acres of the city.
