Wifi Repeater / Extender for Telus Optik?

Hi guys,

So I have the telus Optik router/modem combo (actiontec model) in the basement. The signal strength is too weak in the 3rd floor of the house, and I am looking for a way to set up a signal repeater or some sorts.

I have a router with DD-WRT, but I am having trouble setting it up as a repeater...

Does Telus offer a repeater for use with their services?

Use these instructions to set up an access point using your DD-WRT router. Don't bother setting it up as an extender, it will be problematic.

I have the same set up as you (optik with actiontec and weak wireless upstairs). I set up the DD-WRT router upstairs using these instructions and voila! I can still access my actiontec router to make changes and the Actiontec still does DHCP.

Make sure you follow the instructions carefully and in the right sequence.
