Is a cancer survivor and tour de France powerhouse really a fraud? Even if he did take things that maximized what his body was able to handle?

I find LeMond hilarious in that he seems to believe he's the only one who could beat people clean.

If he is a liar then he is a fraud. There are millions of cancer survivors in the world who have not lied about their achievements, they are heroes.

What if his cancer was caused by his use of performance enhancing drugs?

It makes you wonder if taking testosterone led to the testicular cancer in the first place.

Last time I checked he still beat cancer and was an inspiration to many. Still a hero in my books.

I would be disappointed if it is ever proven that lance was not clean, I would not be surprised though.........

Sometimes you wonder if there are a lot of folks covering up for him - given all the money that he may have been involved in raising, he likely made a lot of friends

The guy won 7 in a row. No matter which way you slice it, that takes a lot of ball.

That's your opinion. I wonder how many of those he inspired have changed their opinion now

He still inspired them. You can't go back in time and uninspire them. He may have helped them get through a difficult time in thier life. Can't change that.

I hope this leads to cleaning up the sport. I think all sports should be run on the up and up. I look at it this way, I wouldn't want one of my offspring being faced with the choice of doing illegal drugs in order to compete and advance in their chosen sport.

I would rather they have two levels of sports.

The clean level, where if your caught even once its a life time ban to any sport.

The do what you gotta do level, we don't care about your long term health.

Steroids and other chemicals, absolutely, I want to see 400 pound boxers.

Surgery, sure want to be a better swimmer, the doctors can give you flippers and a blow hole.

Genetic engineering, absolutely, think of a boxer with his brains in the middle of his chest, he would never be knocked out.

Come on, I know all of you would want to see the freak show olympics with a 5 second 100 meter dash because the winner had springs implanted in his legs.

Haha, there was an SNL skit about a league like this back in the day...

http://www.indyarocks.com/videos/SNL...lympics-231702

In seriousness though, the cheaters would still find their way into the clean leagues. That's the whole point of cheating. To appear to be the best without actually being the best, or working the hardest.

Doping technology will always be a step ahead of doping exposure unfortunately. And when people get caught, it will usually be at the end of a scandal like this, or baseball. Then everything restarts again.

P.S. I miss Phil Hartman.

One of the things Hamilton claims is that Armstrong had a positive test before, but his team and the Tour governing body "made it go away" because Armstrong's reputation was too important for the sport.

If that is true, that is the same thing as match fixing. If this somehow gets proven to be true, I would be really pissed off if I was a clean rider who likely lost out on earning potential and endorsements to dopers.

How many is he inspiring to use health damaging performance enhancing drugs now (and then)? Assuming these accusations are true of course. If he raised the bar in the sport by taking drugs that can cause diseases and health problems, thereby indirectly persuading others to use them, then it's possible he did a lot of harm.

It's great that Armstrong has done so many positive things, but it doesn't give him a ticket to lie and cheat.

Lance's net worth is estimated to be between $100 Million to $200 Million. Cheating pays.

That's just it. In a profit driven world nothing should be surprising. Although I find it surprising that people think any sport is clean. If it will make more money FOR EVERYBODY, not just the athlete, then I am sure people will look away when the needles are being used. After all, it is for the greater good isn't it?

So all of those "healthy" folk who wear the yellow Livestrong bracelets have indirectly funded doping.....crazy.
