The Beltline. It's weird because my assessment went up quite a bit.

If you're on the installment program, you might be looking at the wrong number. They've credited your year to date TIPP payments against the total at the bottom of the bill. To get your actual annual bill, add that back in (or add up the City and Prov lines.)

Yes, the number on the assessment was just an estimate based on last year's budget numbers, it didn't include the tax increase for 2011.

I got mine today and it's up by a lot. I pay through installments and those installments are going up a fair amount every month. Come on Nenshi, do something already!!

I note the green text, but nonetheless, just a reminder that the city has this web site for getting feedback on budget priorities:

I swear* my tax bill for this year is double what it was 5 years ago. (*I'm swearing a lot right now.)

Looks like my monthly payment is going up $11. I can live with that.

Oh real estate... you're the only investment where people complain when you appreciate in value.

$108 increase. Being more than 10% peeves me off, but I ain't going on a rampage over $9/month.

IIRC you guys have a really high mill rate compared with the rest of the province...I would guess in Calgary that tax bill would be closer to half of what your paying. I don't that to be 100% accurate, but I'm pretty sure.

Time to abolish the property tax and move to a City income tax simply piggybacking off of the provincial income tax?
