WTF is wrong with some people? I don't get it. My wife and I saw a very obese woman out running the other day and we both said 'good for her' and it reminded me I needed to get my bike ready for commuting. Some people never grow up I guess.

I think it's a very rare small sample of gym guys who would be like that, but yeah still annoying.

In reality, if you're super skinny and lifting tiny weights or you're very overweight most people in great shape at the gym aren't looking down on you. It's more in your mind than anything.

Every muscle bound fitness freak was once skinny or out of shape, and 99% of them remember that and aren't overly judgmental.

I am still obese, but it's getting better every day. My ideal weight for myself is between 185 and 190, and I am at 217 as of Sunday.

I am now thinking of joining a gym or something, since I don't look like such a blob. I also believe I would be able to maintain a workout with a higher intensity. I started doing the P90 workouts (not P90X, the one before it) but I feel like I could be doing more. Now that I have lost a lot of weight, I am focused on sculpting my body and building strength an stamina.

And MacGruber, I will argue with you up and down the sidewalk about Kiprusoff, but I have nothing but admiration and support for you when it comes to this. Congratulations and thanks for creating a sort of support group on CP.

12am workouts for the win lol
Yelling like an idiot and clapping makes your workout that much more fun. Tough to do this if I go around 8 when everyone and their dog is in the gym.

Down 30 lbs since April 11th. Feeling good and already had to buy a smaller belt

Most surprising of all is the fact I haven't actually missed pop, chocolate, other junk food, fast food, etc.

On the down side, I have so much more energy I can't fall asleep at my regular time.

Keep up the good work, lads!

I go for a run around midnight-1am. I like the quiet, I like the cool air, and I like the lack of traffic.

And when I go to the gym, I like to go at odd hours. Moving into a building with a gym was one of the best things I ever did.

This sounds like me. I am only 5''8 and have been in great shape my entire life....until I found my wife and got comfortable lol. I went from a very fit 165 to 198. I wasn't obese but I felt terrible. I hated going to the beach etc. etc. I got extremely used to eating chicken wings, McDonalds and drinking way more beer than I should.

I made a conscious effort to just cut back on all of it especially the beer and I have successfully done that since the start of April. I also am doing cardio at least 5 times per week (moderate intensity). I made a couple of other changes as well like replacing my "double doubles" with green tea's and I eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at the right times with healthy snacks in between. I actually think I eat more now but it's healthy stuff.

I'm already down 23lbs and I feel better than I have in years. I always used to go very intense when I started and I used to burn myself out quickly and become very discouraged. This time I'm going slower & making realistic changes and the weight and body fat is coming off much faster than I anticipated.

Congrats to all of those getting back in shape. You only get one body so you might as well treat it decent eh. Keep up the good work all.

Holy moley!

This has got to be the best thread on CP. So much positivity and success in here. An amazing amount of weight lost collectively. Lots of respect to all you guys!

I'm tempted to get in on this too. I could stand to lose about 20 or so myself.

Just out of curiosity, what was it that got some of you guys motivated? Really curious to see what's driving everyone or has driven others

Mon/tues/wed/fri/sat afternoon: 10 min warm up, normally a 10 km/h run, followed by a 30 min fat burn walk (level 10-14) @ 6 km/h.

I am starting spin class next week. does it count as HIIT? I know you go at different speeds and isn't just a solid distance cycle

Insanity.

As a matter of fact I just finished my first go-round of it yesterday. Went from 192 to 183 (on a 6 foot medium build frame), packed on some muscle, lost a few inches in the midsection, and gained a ton of flexibility and core strength. I'm going to take a few days off, maybe just doing some light jogs around the neighborhood, and then jump right back into a second round of it next week.

Did you do p90x before you did insanity Komskies? I've heard insanity is another step up from p90x, and I'm curious to try something new (about halfway through my second round of p90x), I'm still seeing results from the workouts, but I'm kind of getting bored of Tony Horton flexing at me.

Nope, I haven't tried P90X before. I knew I was going to try one of the two programs, but what initially gave Insanity the edge for me was that I didn't need to buy any equipment (weights, chin-up bar) to start. As I was doing this in my undeveloped basement on a concrete floor, I did go to Costco and buy 2 4'x8' interlocking foam floor mats for a nice big 8'x8' area to work out on. They were like $11 each or something, nice and cheap.

I can't speak to the intensity of P90x, but from the reading I've done online it seems that most people share the sentiment that Insanity is a step above P90X in terms of intensity and cardio fitness. If you're looking for pure mass building, this probably won't be for you, but if you looking to greatly increase your cardio while building a really strong, flexible, fit body, Insanity excels.

If you're looking to switch it up and break out of the monotony, I have nothing but good things to say about Insanity. I thought I was in pretty good shape when I started the program, but even the 20 minute fitness test on the first day kicked my ass. You repeat the same fitness every 2 weeks for 5 times total over the 60 days. On my 5th fitness test yesterday after completing the program, I basically annihilated all of the marks that I set on the first go round, sometimes doubling or tripling my previous numbers.

If you want any more info about it feel free to ask.

I will, thanks! I do want to get a bit more cardio into my routine to help with soccer. I've been biking to work 3-4 times a week and playing soccer 3-4 times a week, but the intensity behind some of the cardio is likely not as high as a workout like insanity would be.

What I've enjoyed about p90x is the muscle building aspect of it, I've found my core strength, legs and upper body are the strongest they have ever been. I can step up to my pull up bar and crank out 30 easily, and when I started the program I would have trouble getting past 7.

I will hit you up for some info in a few weeks, thanks for the offer.

Bumping this too the top to see how everyone is making out and to brag a little!
I had my weigh in this morning and am currently sitting at 30 lbs lost! That is thrilling! I still have a long ways to go, but 30 is a pretty major milestone!
