I'm ok not to get mail for a while if this means the union will somehow disappear. Of course that'll never happen though...

I guess it will only affect me Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday as those are the only day's I EVER receive mail. Make's it hard for the general public to feel for the carriers here.
For the most part I am online but for my wifes CCTB and whatever else it is that she receives from the government is still paid through the mail. Does anyone know if we can set this up to for direct deposit?

Doesn't Amazon use UPS as well? I know all of my Amazon parcels are dropped off on the doorstep whereas Canada Post parcels are the slips in my mail box.

Yes. Good call.

All my parcels come to my front door. But I used to remember a lot of Amazon stuff at the post office in my day.

Amazon.ca isn't specific but lists UPS, Canada Post and DHL as their shipping companies.

As an independent courier I support their right to strike. It can only help my business.

Does a company like Canada Post care about PR? They don't have other choices besides UPS/Fedex which seem to cost a lot more.

It's like BCFerries pissing people off here, what are they going to do not leave the island to prove a point?

Depends on the shipping method you selected and the area it is going. If you went with the Super Saver option then you will be waiting a while because I believe they use CP only for those.

My parcels get to my address within a week (about 4 business days) on the free shipping which I always use.

Ya I just meant if they went on strike, assuming Amazon would still use CP for their service knowing it was on strike.

Ya...the one I work for.

Unions, you hate them until you work for one. Although I do hate the fact that I take pride in my work and make the exact same amount as the strugglers who don't give a crap and do nothing all day.

Thats what the Ottawa bus drivers did a couple years ago. Went on strike right before Christmas, screwed over the whole city and even picketed the Universities because the Student Unions ran a shuttle service for students, because it was right in the middle of exam time.

Just got this response from Amazon.ca:

Seems like every mailman/women I talk to... they're always in a grumpy ass mood. Once this mailwomen knocked on my door and literally screamed at me for not shoveling the snow and chipping the ice off the sidewalk.

Ronald Reagan had the right idea

Traffic Controller Union dude - "We're on strike"

Reagan - "Well, I think you should get back to work"

TCUD - "No"

Reagan - "Well you're all fired"

I don't see the point of Canada Post at all, I receive maybe 4 key pieces of mail a month, and I switched those over to electronic delivery.

There has not been a peep of this on the CFCN 6:00 news thus far...

If they are going on strike, this wont effect me, but people like my mom who, for whatever reason, refuse to flip their bills to an online delivery system are going to be in a pickle.
