Anyone starting the believe the Indians are for real? They've scored 10 runs in an inning tonight, 2nd time this year they've done that.
They might get 20+ tonight!

Its more the lack of offense that has been killing the Yankees in the month of May. Their DH has the lowest batting average in the MLB. Jeter leads the league in ground balls. A-Rod, who was flirting with MVP type numbers, thinks he is batting in the post season. Russel Martin started red hot but has come down to earth. Swisher stinks. Teixeira switched April for May this season. Cano has been average. Gardner started off terrible, but has actually been hitting better lately. The only Yankee bat that is red hot is CF Curtis Granderson who has 14 home runs (2nd behind Bautista with 16), is slugging .643 (third), with an OPS of .993 (7th).

Troutman will be pleased to know I have a Buster Posey authentic world series jersey on order. I have to admit I felt a little dirty when I hit the order button. Should be a good collectible some day.
As for my Padres, offense lately has actually picked up and now the pitching is falling apart. I have watched every game so far in the season.
Maybin has been on fire lately and been the most notable contributor, great speed on the bases too. Hudson and Hundley are on the short DL. Ludwick has been awful, for a time there he went 0 for 21 but recently got a couple of hits in the series against the Rockies this past weekend. Denorfia and Hawpe have shown improvement. Venable is nothing like he was last year, not sure why he is swinging at everything. Bartlett and Headley have been relatively consistent for getting on base. Johnson and Phillips have been filling for Hundley's role quite well and contributed to the offense.
For pitching, Stauffer has been the most consistent to me however he seems to burn out after 5 innings. Latos is throwing outside a lot, too many walks, he did crank a nice homer though in the Arizona series I believe. Richard is great at home with a very low ERA but terrible as of late on the recent road trip. Moseley started out having a spectacular April with an ERA somewhere around 1.38 but last two games I watched he just didn't have the same command of the ball. Harang is another that started out great with 4-0 start but has lost the last few games (he had a nasty flu bug so not sure if that has thrown him off).

Hawpe is actually starting to turn his horrible season around. He's batting in the mid 300s over the last couple of weeks. 2 for 4 last night.

He does have just as many home runs this year as he did all of last year so maybe there is hope for him

Hawpe is doing much better, I can't believe the Padres are right up there for most runs for the month of May in the national league, bizarre.
What I would like to see is more Gonzalez at 2nd versus Eric Patterson who keeps spiking the damn ball into the dirt when throwing to 1st.

A tip from a parole officer led to the arrest Sunday of the key suspect in the attack on a San Francisco Giants fan outside Dodger Stadium after the rival teams' season opener, a brutal beating that brought an outpouring of support for the victim and outrage in the sports world and beyond.
Suspect Giovanni Ramirez, 31, was detained in an early morning raid on an East Hollywood apartment building and was believed to be the "primary aggressor" in the March 31 beating that left Bryan Stow with brain damage, Police Chief Charlie Beck said at an afternoon news conference at the stadium that included Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and Dodgers officials.
Stow, a 42-year-old paramedic and father of two, was transferred to San Francisco General Hospital after he was initially treated at Los Angeles County-University of Southern California Medical Center, where doctors put him in a medically induced coma to help prevent seizures.
Last week, doctors in San Francisco reported that Stow has been able to open his eyes, but he remained in critical condition.
But Beck said of the investigation that "this job is only half done" with suspects still at large, and others who spoke at the news conference said the same.
"The woman who was driving, you need to give yourself in. The other coward who did this, you need to give yourself in," said City Councilman Ed Reyes, who represents the area of the stadium.

Sweeping the Reds and beating the Red Sox for a 4th consecutive time this season should convince a few. Unless you are a pretty devoted MLB fan chances are you can maybe name 5 or 6 players on the team, and many would name Sizemore and Haffner. It's pretty remarkable what they've done thus far, hopefully they can keep it up.

Sizemore and Haffner aren't even in the lineup right now!
I watched a couple of their games this weekend, they're just magical right now. Down 1-0 to the Reds, get 2 in the 7th. Down 2-1 to the Red Sox, get 2 in the 8th in the pouring rain. Most game they're not getting many hits but they're getting them at the right time.

I would say they are definitely for real. Only team with 30 wins in the Majors. 7-3 in their last 10 and winning four in a row with a 7 game lead in the AL Central.

Buster Posey injured in SF Giants 12-inning loss
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/articl...SPIB1JL4F0.DTL
The Giants scored four runs in the ninth inning to send Wednesday night's game into extra innings. The Marlins won 7-6 in the 12th inning when Emilio Bonifacio's one-out sacrifice fly against Guillermo Mota scored Scott Cousins, who crashed violently - but cleanly - into Posey as Nate Schierholtz's one-hop throw arrived at the plate.
Posey incurred what looks like a serious injury to his left ankle. After the game, he went for X-rays. Results were not immediately available.

Did Buster drop the ball, or was he crashed into before he was able to catch the ball?
