If you thought that then that is on you and not the team because there was 0 reason to believe that this team would be competitive int he AL East.
I understand that there is a ton of kool-aid being drunk when it comes to AA but even most of those fans are under the delusion that this team will be competitive in 2012 not 2011.

Not the one...

If competitive is defined around making the playoffs or winning a 'ship then this year's incantation is equally competitive with most other recent seasons'.
Fans pining for the days of Brevin Mencherson getting 500 abs to keep a respectable record confound me. Groom the kids, optimize value for expiring contracts, and swing for the damn fences already.

Now that they've come off their early season honey moon the real Blue Jays are showing up and they are a horrible team. Wouldn't be surprised if they only won 60-70 games this season.
|
surprised if they win 60...wouldn't be surprised if they win 60-70...whatev, you make my point for me.

Or the Jays have done really well considering the rash of injuries they have had in the first month and half of the season.
I don't see any way the Jays will end up with only 60 wins.
I would guess they will be closer to .500.

Early on the season he's been the guy from Major League II who thought he was going to hit everything out of the park.
Next fly ball he hits I want to see him doing push ups in the batters box.

The first movie is so good. But wow, the sequel really sucked. Why is it, then, that I can't watch the first one without throwing the second one in the DVD player directly afterward?

Am I the only one that still loves watching this team play, win or lose?!
I don't have any expectations for this season other than expecting some growth from the young pitching staff. And they have shown flashes of brilliance but they have also shown their inconsistencies, which is expected.
Davis, while looking a bit lost at the plate, is a maniac once he gets on base. Lind was on fuego before his injury and Bautista is exceeding everyone's expectations of him.
Meanwhile, the bullpen is shaping up to be the strength of the team which a lot of people didn't expect.
Maybe I just enjoy watching this team because I'm excited for the future but they are in plenty of close games this year. Sure they have blown some late leads but what team doesn't?

Baustista is amazing, what a great at bat fighting back from 0-2. Actually he almost had two homers today with that long foul ball in the first. His numbers are amazing and watching his at bats it's not hard to believe,he's got incredible pitch recognition and when he gets a pitch to hit he hammers it.... just so much fun to watch.

Because Bob Uecker was awesome in both of them!
And yeah, Bautista really is something else this year. Every at bat you know if he gets something in the zone he's going to hit it hard. In a year where a lot of pitchers are having their way with hitters, this guy is bucking the trend big time.

Bautista is a beast and is proving the people who said he was a one year wonder wrong. He has 26 less AB than Granderson as well and is tied with him for the lead in home runs.

Bautista is looking like one of the all time greats thus far this year. Simply amazing stuff.

Bautista looks like he's hitting batting practice when he hits lately. Just seems so easy and opposing teams have absolutely no answers.

Ok haven't watched many games because of the playoffs, but can anyone tell me who is doing the play by play tonight? Sounds familiar, but can't put a name to to his voice. And where's Buck? Just one of his weekends off?

It's not even like he's just matching last year though, he's been far better to this point, which is something not even the most optimistic fans were predicting.

If you're referring to the radio, I think its Greg Zaun. I think he does a great job.
edit: read a little harder...you're talking about TV. Move along. Bautista is a beast.

Alan Ashby from the radio broadcasts is filling in for Buck.

I wish Ashby was the full time guy. Buck blows.
