It's been on there for 3 or 4 years, and its hard not to laugh when watching because the production is so cheesy.

The Stampeders sign Bender and Deane. They have now signed all 6 players they drafted last year.

The Stampeders realeased import QB Clark.

The earliest Lumsden could be back would be September.

Mike Labinjo’s stay with the Calgary Stampeders is about to come to an end.
According to a source, Labinjo will be released from the team, as early as Wednesday, when the team is expected to make it official. Team officials wouldn’t comment on Tuesday, but Stamps coach and general manager John Hufnagel will likely address the issue at Wednesday’s President’s Ring luncheon, when retiring centre Rob Lazeo will be honoured.

That's too bad it didn't work out for Labinjo. I always love the guy especially on that Western Final against BC Lions a few years back. He is a good DLineman but I guess he cannot recover from his injuries due to lack of motivation in working out hard enough.

As for QB Darryl Clark, I guess Huf and the staff are too high on that Brad Sinopli guy that he will give him all the chances in the world to compete for the 3rd string QB against another rookie. I sure hope it works out well for Sinopli. We really need to see a Canadian QB in the CFL just to give the CIS QBs some hope to play for the CFL one day in their natural position not the other position.

I am glad to hear they signed these two hulking Non-import OLineman in Deane and Bender. Heck they are local Alberta boys too. I hope they will be as cranky as Lazeo. We will definitely miss Lazeo on the line. It would be nice to see if Jesse Lumsden will recover soon. Not really a big fan of him because he's injury-prone or bad luck with injuries, but the way he played that last 2 games kind of impressed me a bit. If we get a healthy Lumsden, our special team and RB will be a lot better.

3. Anthony Parker – WR (Calgary)
Forde says: #1 ranked receiver “Anthony Parker (Calgary): clearly the most explosive player in the entire class”
Stamps say: "He's got good size (six-foot-two, 215 pounds), runs very well with the football and has enough speed to stretch the field. He catches the ball well and has good upside," said Stampeders receivers coach Pete Costanza.”
9. Junior Turner – DL (Bishops)
Forde says: #2 ranked d-lineman (behind Vaughn Martin) “remarkably athletic at 255 lbs., could play tackle or end”
Stamps say: “He has a great build, is strong and has all the physical attributes needed to play at this level. He's a good student of the game and works hard. He's very athletic.," said Stampeders defensive line coach Brent Monson.”
14. – traded with Edmonton for DL Brian Bulcke (Stanford) who was #6 in 2010.
CFL.ca: The Windsor, Ontario native appeared in 35 games (9 starts) over four years at Stanford. He has accumulated 74 defensive tackles, five tackles for losses, five quarterback sacks and one fumble recovery over the four years. Bulcke has spent time at both defensive tackle and nose tackle for the duration of his collegiate career. He missed most of the 2009 season with a wrist injury.

With one more year of college eligibility left, Eskimo General Manager and Director of Football Operations Danny Maciocia is excited to see what he will bring to the green and gold in a year. “Bulke is a great future acquisition for us,” Maciocia. “We’ve tried for the past few months to trade up in order to get him. He is a talented ratio changer that will be able to come in here next year and start right away. We are very, very happy to have him aboard.”

Regarded as one of the top three Canadian prospects in high school, Bulcke played both defensive end and offensive guard at St. Anne High School in Windsor. He was a four year starter on both sides of the ball and was team captain as a senior. Brian was the youngest defensive starter on Team Ontario’s 2004 national championship team. During the summer’s the 6’4, 273 pound Canadian was a member of the Essex Ravens of the Ontario Varsity Football League where he started all four years and was captain for the final three.
Mario Anniucchiarico (Edmonton Journal): Maciocia first traded his ninth and 22nd overall selections to Winnipeg to select Stanford University defensive end Brian Bulcke at No. 6, then flipped his 19th and 27th selections to Hamilton to grab St. Mary's University safety Saleem Borhot at No. 12.

Bulcke is a six-foot-four, 272-pound native of Windsor, Ont., who will return to Stanford in the fall. Borhot is a six-foot-three 195-pounder who will be given an opportunity to replace Scott Gordon, who let the Esks know he would be retiring.

"We've tried for the last three months to move up into the first round for the simple reason that we wanted Bulcke and we wanted him real bad," said Maciocia.

"He'll come in here next year (2011) and he has the ability to start right away.

"He's one individual we felt we needed to have here. We haven't been able to change the ratio along the defensive line. This guy will give us the ability to do so; we just have to wait for about a year, but when he comes here he will be an impact player."

Maciocia and his scouting staff have been following Bulcke's progression at Stanford, speaking to family members and previous coaches.

"He comes highly recommended. When I asked his dad if Edmonton would be a destination he would like to play CFL football, there was a sense of excitement in his (dad's) voice," said Maciocia, who cannot talk to NCAA players directly.

"Everyone is fired up. They're looking forward to him finishing strong at Stanford and then becoming an Edmonton Eskimo.

"We know we have to wait a year, but he's worth the wait because he can give you eight to 10 good years. That's why we wanted to move up, we wanted to land Brian and we're excited to know that he'll be an Eskimo here in 2011 and we'll be able to watch him play in the Pac 10."

Bulcke was a medical redshirt last year due to a wrist injury and has only played in 31 career games, making nine starts over the last three seasons. He has 46 tackles and five sacks and is Stanford's only Canadian player.

Bulcke was rated No. 1 overall at one point entering his draft year.
26. Akwasi Antwi – DL (Allison)
Not ranked by Forde in the top 15 DL.
Stamps say: "This kid has all the tools to play in the CFL. He makes plays and runs things down with his speed," said defensive coordinator Chris Jones.
29. Brad Sinopoli – QB (Ottawa)
Forde says: #1 ranked QB “athleticism makes him "The Great Canadian Hope" at QB” “Sinopoli's Draft Day journey will be one worth following on Sunday. In the eyes of CFL scouts, what makes him a CFL prospect when many previous CIS greats were not is the fact that he can already compete physically with most American QBs. Nonetheless, he still faces the challenge of adjusting to the speed and complexity of the pro game”
Stamps say: "Brad has a good delivery and a quick release. Athletically, Brad fits in nicely with other QBs in the CFL. He is the best quarterback prospect in this draft," said offensive coordinator Dave Dickenson.
34. Matt Walter – RB (Calgary)
Forde says: #1 ranked RB “Walter has put up great CIS numbers through a combination of good vision, instincts, speed, and hard work but he must be treated as a future.”
Stamps say: "Walter has quick feet and can make the first guy miss. He has very good speed, good balance and good vision," running back coach Mike Gibson.
45. Jared Manchelenko – TE (Concordia)

Overall a great draft for the Stamps, hopefully Parker turns out to be the first great Stamps Canadian reciever in a while, and maybe a Cornish-Walter combo at RB when Reynolds hangs em up.
I would love to see Sinopoli stick with the team and develop, he was great in CIS and sounds like he has the goods to be a starter someday. Stamps are in a great position at QB with Tate as the #2 developing also

we shouldnt forget that the Stamps will have to let some good talent go next year when Ottawa has its expansion draft. Stamps can only protect 1 QB, it will be interesting to see what they will do.

Ottawa will be able to select a total of eight imports and 16 non-imports, including two quarterbacks, from existing teams.

Member Clubs may protect one quarterback, and ten additional Import players.

Each Member Club will protect six Non-Import players.

Member Clubs will then submit a second list of an additional six Non-Import players for protection

Ottawa will select in rounds one, two, three and four of the CFL Canadian Draft in the calendar year preceding the year it begins play, possibly 2012. It will select at the ninth position in each of the first four rounds and may only select Redshirt Juniors from the NCAA. Ottawa will be able to select a maximum of four underclassmen (NCAA) in that CFL Canadian Draft.

Ottawa will have the first pick in every round of the CFL Canadian Draft in the calendar year in which it begins play, possibly 2013.

I kinda had a feeling the stamps would draft parker, after Muamba went first. Edm had bigger needs at OL, so I knew he'd be there for the taking if we could swing a deal.

Bryant is intriguing. 2nd rated DT after martin. Big coup. Walters was a nice pick up too. We could have an all canadian back field one day. How lovely.

I was quite pleased with the Bombers' pick of Muamba; seemed like a bit of a no-brainer and even Blue management couldn't screw that up.

Hopefully the beginning of the climb back to respectability.

Many quarterbacks have played backup for great teams in great systems and looked good - then they finally get handed the ball when their team isn't up 21 points in the 4th Q and they don't do so well.

He seems to be a keeper...but he's far from a sure thing and I wouldn't protect him over Hank unless the latter has a terrible year this year and shows signs of slowing down.

I totally agree. If Calgary leave Burris unprotected, Ottawa will snap up on him in a second. I am sure there are other QBs they can check out ie: Jackson from BC, Jyles from TO, Porter from Hamilton, that Mtl backup QB.

Exactly. Tate has shown some decent qualities, and not just in cleanup duty, but he is 28, has thrown 73 passes in his 3 year CFL career (including Sask's practice roster), but this is the CFL and a backup QB.

Things change pretty quickly over the course of a year in the CFL, and he could fade into irrelevance fairly quickly for any number of reasons. Ask John Grace, or Labinjo...those guys were bonafide starters and lost it all within a season for the most part.
Burris has to struggle extremely (and not his perpetual detractors definition of struggling) for there to be any chance of him not playing the next few seasons here after this one, and that includes being protected in the expansion draft in 12 months+.

Hank isn't a sure thing either ... especially if the game matters.
