The Giants are walking far too many batters, and they are getting punished.
On the bright side, they have played the fewest home games in MLB, and have some injured players coming back.

Was supposed to return Friday May 6th, but it will be delayed for a few days. Sandoval is out for another 4 weeks at least after wrist surgery. Zito due back in late May.

Though I am not a Royals fan, I am quite intrigued by the amount of prospects, and I mean legitimate prospects, they have in their farm system. Though some thought Mike Moustakas would be the first to be called up, Eric Hosmer got the call yesterday, and will make his debut against the Athletics tonight. Good stuff, looking forward to Kansas City becoming relevant again in Major League Baseball.

Willy Aybar goes from 4 million dollars and a tropical destination to being paid with peanuts and living in the arm pit of Canada. So glad my rays didn't extend him. If only he was as good as his brother

Just noticed that Fox has moved their game of the week braodcast into prime time for tonight.
Wonder if this is a permanent thing or if it its a trial balloon being sent out to see what kind of ratings they garner...or it could be just because its the Yankees/Red Sox as well....though there are 2 other games on at the same time they have national rights to as well.

I assumed it was just because it was Yankees/Sox, although next week is the Yankees/Mets, also on prime time.

A fair bit of controversy with Posada taking himself out of the lineup before tonights game. His wife claimed back stiffness but Cashman was on air saying there was no injury. Posada having a rough season combined with 4 straight Yankee losses, and being two games back of Tampa the New York media will make a mountain out of this.

Ya think?

The NY media is hilarious. Yes this is a bit of an issue...but hardly a season changer of any sort. The team is 2 friggin games out of 1st place fer chrissakes and a guy that probably shouldnt have been counted on for large contributrions to begin with...isnt or wont contribute. Big deal.
The much bigger issue for the Yanks is pitching, not what a 39 year old part time DH is doing. Love it mind you as I hate this club, and really like the way the Red Sox are starting to roll.

I would agree that the pitching is letting the Yankees down, and not just the starters. With the way the Rays have been pitching for the last month, and now the Red Sox staff looks like Bucholz, Beckett, and Lester are all rounding into form, thats the big difference between those three clubs. Guys like Garcia, and Colon have been the bright spots for that team, but it's unlikely they'll be able to keep it up all year.
But in spite of all thsi, they're only two games out, and no team can match their ability to go out and add a key piece or two to bolster their lineup before the deadline.

Can't imagine much better bookends to a week than the Lakers and Yankees acting like complete fools.

Sox pull off the sweep of the Yankees. Posada pinch hit in the 8th, and drew a walk in case anyone cares. Game winning run was on an error by A-Rod that should have been a double play.
