Maybe I miss something, but did BBF actually say she doesn't believe Bin Ladin was killed?
What I took out of this was that BBF point of view is that if US government definitely wants to confirm to the people that Bin Ladin is dead, than they should release the picture. Otherwise, there will always be a segment of society that will not believe it. Also, the terrorist side can potentially exploit the lack of physical evidence as part of their on propaganda strategy.
Do I believe that the US killed him? Yup. I also understand the reasons behind the burial at sea and the reasons for not releasing the photographs. However, I can also see the point BBF has made, and I can see why she has reasons to be
sceptical

But...but...we need DNA proof AND a photo of the daughter to ensure she's actually Bin Laden's daughter!!!!!!111!!

Yeah I wasn't trying to point you out as being behind the times or anything...just the amount of "source" info on this is unbelievable (though a lot of misconstrued info)...even last night I posted that the CIA said the photos would be released.

I'm kinda on the same page, however, wouldn't the undead Bin Laden have already released a statement, video or audio if he weren't dead. That would be the biggest PR coup in Al-Qaeda history.
He's very likely dead. If not then US military has him locked away in a dark, dank, rat infested room where, on a daily basis, he is kicked square in the nuts once for every person that died on Sept.11 and given millions of paper cuts all over his body before marinating him with lemon juice and tabasco sauce. Either way, I'm fine with it.

I prefer the photos not to be released to the public.
It's unsightly for a nation to celebrate an assination in this manner.

Yet again, mikey almost grasps the concept.
He'd be a greek trajedy if he was remotely interesting.

The one guy I know in real life that's very much a CTer is exactly like this, will buy anything as long as it comes from infowars or WND or confirms some preexisting bias.
A very common pattern was "Well I don't know much about x but I believe..."
So much of what he said was textbook examples of cognitive biases. I agree with Thor, there really should be some more explicit portions in school to equip people to defend themselves.

Thank you.
I am really surprised though, that Obama said no photos. According to almost every poll with every major news source, almost 80 percent of people who voted chose wanting to see the photos, as opposed to not wanting to see them. This won't be a favourable decision.
Eager to see what he says and what is released in the coming days, especially since the news reports that several people have seen the photos. I read on MSNBC (can't find the source right now) that several people from the press have seen the photos, so it would be a huge surprise if they didn't leak.

Any time there is incomplete information available or missing evidence, there are going to be conspiracy theories. It's not always an irrational behaviour in my opinion. For example, even if there was no direct evidence about who conducted 9/11, some "conspiracy theorists" would have figured it to be Osama bin Laden... and they would have been right. Of course, other incorrect theories would have arisen too. Really, the only theories that we don't consider "conspiracy theories" are the ones put forward by public institutions even if they lack evidence and are also relying on possible fiction to fill in the blanks.
Having said that, most conspiracy theories are garbage and it seems a lot of the people who spread them think there is a conspiracy on every corner. I think they do exist, but are extremely rare.

Maybe he is going to wait until The Apprentice season finale to release them. That's what I would do.

Some photographs of a barely recognizable Osama Bin Laden are not going to convince conspiracy theorists, when it is well know that the more evidence to the contrary a conspiracy theorist is shown, the more he/she believes it is all fabricated and the conspiracy goes deeper. Conspiracy theorists have already made up their mind (i.e., mikey believing he's been dead for years. A photograph shown today about him being killed the other day will not convince him otherwise).
All evidence to the contrary opinion of a conspiracy theorist is most often used by said conspiracy theorist as evidence of the conspiracy.

Osama is definitely dead. If he wasn't we would have heard from alqaeda by now refuting this claim and surely his family would be saying differently. I just find it stupid not to show people that it is indeed over.
They should have brought him in, tried him in a western justice system and executed him as opposed to taking him out. This would have curbed a large amount of questioning. I suppose this may have opened the door for a flurry of attacks against the US so its a very tough area.

I'll bite, when did he die, under what circumstances, and why was this not released to us then; why was it done now?

The "population of sound intellect" doesn't need to look at a picture of half a face to come to that conclusion.
