Wow. Spurs just getting jobbed by the refs.
Thats okay, I have it on good authority that 'Arry has contracted Mike Gillis to do a press conference on officiating inequalities, hes got all the stats typed up and everything. Next game everything is going to go Spurs' way, even a couple of penalty shots, you'll see!

Hey, I dont want 5th either. I honestly think a season out of Europe to concentrate on the League while we dont have to worry too much about the Fair Play rules will be a great thing for Liverpool.
You can have 5th, I just want to finish above Everton.

I won't pretend I can stand spurs, because I clearly can't being a gooner and all, but man did they get jobbed.
Officiating has been awful in a lot of games, both CL and EPL.
It feels especially bad this year.

It's been bad for awhile. It's an impossible job.
Soccer is still stuck in the 20th century. A field 120 yards by 70 yards officiated by 1 ref and 2 assistants and no replay. It's not humanly possible to see 22 players up to no good. 1 billion people around the world within a nanosecond know it's the wrong call and are never able to help out the ref.
Think about NFL which has 7 officials + replay on a smaller playing surface.

Outside of the Sandro goal, which was against the run of play, Spurs didn't generate much in the way of decent goal-scoring chances, whereas the Blues did. Even though there are serious question marks surrounding their two goals, it was probably a fair result in the end as Chelsea were the better side, created more and had very good opportunities in front of that buffoon Gomes.
There was a great shot of him (Gomes) on MOTD midway after he flapped at another mid-range shot where he looked absolutely sh*t scared, or that is was Alans Hansen and Shearer thought. Even he is frightened of his inability to stop basic shots. He's quickly turning into a post-Daid Seaman Arsenal-style keeper.

the problem with that is that Spurs have had the better run of play in all these games the past two months where all they ended up with were draws against the likes of West Ham, West Brom etc.
so the whole "the right team got the 3 points" doesn't seem to run fair at most points
either way, its been a fun season and its also shown that a clinical finishing striker is needed. With the midfield they have, and the chances it creates every game, they should have 10-15 more goals than the 51 they have now.

Maybe, but I think that in terms of yesterday, 3 points to Chelsea was probably the correct result, based on what I saw.

I wonder how many games Fergie will be suspended the time around for criticizing the match officials?
Not that he has said anything yet (to the best of my knowledge) but I'm certain it's forthcoming.

Pretty sweet to see Ramsey get the winner, coming back after the broken leg. Arsenal were due to finally get a result.

Which striker-type would you want? Tall-physical type or short-speedy type?

still think Man U misses C Ronaldo, not until recent surge by 'little bean' Hernandez, Man U is no where near they are. 3 games to go, a draw or win against Chelsea shall secure the title.

Spurs are being impaled upon the sword of poor finishing and sloppy, sloppy goaltending. Last season for Gomes looks like a one-off, now hes back to being his usual really poor self, and Spurs have no one they can really count on to pot a few. Every really successful team has at least one of those iconic front men that you can count on for a few goals, the best Spurs have is probably VdV. And thats not a knock on VdV, I think hes a spectacular player, but hes not prolific and hes a midfielder rather than a striker.
They need a striker who can finish and goaltender who can stop a shot from 30+ goddamn yards! Sorry, you can say the calls went against them in that game and be absolutely right, but if Gomes doesnt do his best 'Cloutier' impression then its a complete non-issue.
Newcastle, I dont know what to say, first of all, Liverpool were really poor in this first half, they must have given Newcastle what, 10-12 chances from corners and dead ball situations? And they did absolutely nothing with any of them.
Further, the Newcastle fans that showed up with shirts along the likes of:
- Carro££
- #9 = Judas
These guys are hilariously ignorant. The guy didnt leave for more money, the club sold him! You want to bitch at someone then bitch at Cashley.
As for the title, I'm really unconcerned about whoever wins it. I like seeing United once again be mostly ineffective against top tier teams, it really goes to show that you dont need to beat top 4 or 5 teams, you just have to consistently win against the minnows rather than draw, which is what United is good at.
As for 5th place and 'passing' Spurs, I dont care much for that either, If they play in Europe, okay, more games, more money, more incentive to invest in the club, but even Kenny basically put out a third string for Europa league games.
Luis Suarez is absolute money, what a signing. Hell, Kuyt and Maxi are like new players this season, well, Maxi for only 2 games, but hey, take what you can get. Was that a soft penalty? Certainly. I think Suarez got the benefit of the doubt because there were two other occasions in the match where he could have gone down in the box but he fought through and stayed on his feet, but holy crap that guy never runs out of pitch, the plays he makes on the goal line are unreal. That ball should have, by all rights, rolled out of play, but he saves it, gets around the defender and forces him into committing the foul in the penalty area.

just someone who can finish, like if this current team had the berbatov of 2-3 years ago I think they have 15 more points
anyone from Aguero (pipe dream), Lukaku (same thing), Rossi (somewhat likely) to any number of guys I cant think of
they have one of the best midfields in England, and Europe, they just need someone up top who is good enough to go with it
a proper number 9 is very necessary to take the next step

Go Blackpool, nothing really against Spurs, but the League would be a little more boring without Blackpool and Holloway as a part of it.
Not to mention, I imagine that Adam will be a Spurs or a Red player next season anyways.

My God I wish I could coach Spurs. Unreal.
They've got 4 or 5 guys who can put a world class cross in and drop it on a dime, but they could have their whole squad plus the reserves in the box and not one of those incompetent idiots could possibly get a touch on it.
If they put a guy, standing still, halfway between the 6 yard box and the goal line their wingers could just bounce it off of him into the net.
Its unbelievable how many of these crosses are just going straight through the box and no one, not one Spurs player is even close to them.

Cause you've got a guy like Pavliyachenko, he's not going to run for anything let alone crosses into the box.
