Pats take TE Lee Smith, 6-6 266 from Marshall with 2nd pick in the 5th. Not sure I see the need here, but we trust in BB.

Blocking, eventual heir to crumpler. Best blocking TE in the draft i like the pick. He can also long snap so fills 2 needs if he can play both.

Couple more compensatory picks to go...but yeah they addressed the whole depth thing if nothing else.

jesus christ thompson drives me nuts sometimes...just picked ANOTHER TE late...putting 6 on the team.

Argh.

I think teams like the Eagles, Pats, Packers, Colts, and Steelers do a great job of not getting suckered into drafting by position, instead choosing to take the BPA on their board. Worst case scenario is you have a lot of depth and competition at certain positions.

Pretty damn happy with the Bronco draft.

Two sure fire defensive starters with the first two picks in Miller and Moore and a couple of Sooners in the later rounds that I watched a lot in college and like in Carter and Beal.

No question about it and lets face it the guy has a track rcord of drafting players matched by very few the last 5 or so years.

My only problem with taking that last TE is that it means there is one less competition elsewhere....6 TE's is just absurd IMO.

New England’s second offensive lineman taken in this draft, Cannon was a tackle for the Horned Frogs throughout his career, but could project as a guard for the Patriots, given the first-round selection of Nate Solder and the established presence of Sebastian Vollmer.
Cannon is notable for another unfortunate reason: he recently was diagnosed with cancer.
He found out during his medical examinations at the Combine that he has a treatable form of the disease. One team, he said, ordered a biopsy, which revealed that he has non-Hodgskin’s lymphoma. This past Thursday, he began treatments, but when asked if he’d be ready for the start of the season, Cannon said he was unsure.

Yup seems like thats what BB in NE thinks...

In the end, the Patriots spent two-thirds of their draft selections on offensive players – far more than most observers expected.
“It’s more of an indication of how the draft went,” Belichick explained to reporters in his concluding remarks. “When you see a lot of players get taken at a certain position in the draft, naturally, that gives more value to another position. You see that in every draft.”

And not a single damn defensive lineman. No sense in addressing the most glaring need on the team in the draft I guess.

It's relative.

Basically they had 3 players on that defense worth keeping as starters. The glare from the defensive line isn't much brighter than the one from the secondary IMO.

Really happy with the Fins draft. They made their selections based on what they needed, at least their first 3 picks anyways.
Pouncey in the first round was a safe but excellent pick. They need lots of help on the o-line and I was worried that when all the QBs started going that the Fins would go after one as well.

Thomas in the 2nd round is a good pick. The Fins are facing a free agency period that sees both Brown and Williams as free agents. Thomas will replace one of them. Although, I've read lots of things that lead me to believe the Fins will let both Brown and Williams go and they will target Deangelo Williams.

Gates in the 4th round is the type of WR that the Fins really needed, someone who can stretch the field. Whether this kid be that guy remains open for discussion.

Charles Clay surprised me because I thought they might go with another speedster at HB. Clay is a physical kid who can bounce from the backfield to TE.

Kearse and Wilson in the 7th, I don't know much about either but I read that Wilson has had legal issues but if he doesn't work out at least it was only a 7th round pick.

Strange draft for the Chiefs. They took an Ivy League running back with their 7th round pick for cripes sake. Justin Miller could end up being the biggest impact guy out of all their picks.

This dude Allen_Bailey grew up on an Island in Georgia, and his family has maintained their way of life since the days of slavery by chowing down on racoon, possom, and armadilo

Bailey tips the scales at 285 pounds, having stuffed his gut during his formative years with just about anything on four feet his family could catch on the tiny island off the coast of Georgia where he was raised. Forty-seven people live in Hog Hammock on Sapelo Island, more than half of whom are related to Bailey.
All are part of the tight-knit Gullah/Geechee community, descendants of slaves admired for preserving their African cultural heritage two centuries after being brought to the United States. Bailey's ancestors were among 400 slaves from West Africa taken to Sapelo Island by a British plantation owner. Some stayed after the Civil War, and they subsisted on a protein-rich diet of deer, boar, marsupials and shellfish.

I like the pick of Ricky Stanzi, although it would have been better if Charlie Weiss was still around. Iowa coach and Pioli are good buddies, and Stanzi will have time to learn, hopefully become a capable backup. In the 7th round they take some guy named Shane Bannon a RB out of Yale...Gil Brandt knew nothing about this guy. He usually knows something about everyone.

I am really happy with the Texans draft. We got JJ Watt, Brooks Reed and Brandon Harris in the first 2 rounds. All 3 of these guys were potential first rounders.

Von Miller will wear 58 in honor of Derrick Thomas.

If he can be half the player Thomas was Denver made the right choice.

Potentially 5 opening day starters taken in the draft with Miller, Moore, Irving, Franklin and Carter.

I think Von Miller is the best player in this draft class bar none.

for some reason I saw a bunch of A&M games this past season, and the guy was a man among boys. Smart, athletic, explosive and really strong against the block. Truly reminded me of Matthews.

Biggest Broncos need? D line. Deepest position in this draft? D line. While the media here is mostly all about the Elway knob slobbering this was a failed draft. If they're saying this is a 3 or 4 year process and they'll get some help down the line, fine. But as it sits they did nothing to address the biggest holes on this team.

Its getting to be a bit much I agree, althought i think it sends a pretty strong message to Crabtree and Quarless, neither of which were that impressive last year IMO. I like Quarless potential upside, but he looks very raw at this point.
the Taylor pick i like becuase he was their best special teams player 3 years running. For a team with overal pretty weak special teams anything they can add is positive IMO. Finley is also a pending FA to brining in a guy like Williams could protect them against that potential loss.

I really like the Packers draft, i'd give it a pretty solid B+, with a potential to be better. They didn't get alot of immediate help, but Í think they've got a good 4 to 5 players that should help them in some regard down the road. Really like the Devon House pick and think that could be a very good value pick for them.
