Are you insinuating that because Olivia Chow is Asian, she was working in a massage parlour?

I don't care if he did or he didn't. This is as stupid as the Monica Lewinsky deal. I don't care about sex our leaders are having or not having. The fact that its 16 years ago makes it even dumber. And the fact people are talking about it makes me even sadder.
I swear, I'll vote (hell join, petition, campaign and through my hat in) NDP just for this if all you don't wise up and see this for what it is.
EDIT: And I really don't wanna do that. I was going to vote CPC. But politics is more about the people than the candidates. And if this is the way our elections are headed, I will vote against those campaigning dirty to try and dissuade it.

Dude, two things:
1) if this is the deciding factor on who you will vote for (in either direction) then that is pathetic,
and
2) Why do people just automatically assume that this is the Conservatives doing? Literally any party could have leaked this, or it could have been leaked by no one at all. Simply blaming the CPC because the story was run by the Sun is beyond ridiculous.

Hilarious that he seems to be doing a lot of that lately.
Up till now people just ignored his policies, but now he's being challenged and he can't actual stand up for his policies without having to constantly backtrack.

Haha, it's far too easy to call you out Tranny.
But in all fairness, yes we should talk about him, his platform, his views, and his party.
But not his massage.
Was that too hard for you? Or were you just too excited to see me on again?

Well people are assuming its the Conservatives because of the obvious connections. The guy who runs the TV station is the PMO former communications director. Krista Erickson is romantically linked with one MP. Ezra Levant is Ezra Levant and the list goes on.
There are some strange things though. Who gave them this info? There were no charges so is the fact that this took place even supposed to be public? How does the officer get anonymity, meanwhile he takes a run at Layton? If this is really news and legit then surely other news sources get to see the evidence and talk to the officer, right?
There is no way that this was done without political motivations. Otherwise it would've come out sometime over the past 15 years, and not when the NDP is on the verge of a historic breakthrough.

Again if this was a smear campaign it was ill conceived because it comes too late for full effect. Most Canadians wont have heard about it before election day and for the ones that do it will be pretty easy to ignore it because the details won't be clear. Also, there is no evidence that any party was behind this story.
Also even if you support a woman's right to sell their body and a husband's right to get some on the side what Layton was doing was over the line. How could he be sure that this women had any choice in having sex with him? He couldn't have.

On again? No idea what you mean. None.
I have aleady said I dont care what happened 15 years ago...but his denial that he knew it was a whore house is laughable or he is really dumb.
And again, if its not OK for others to talk about what the newspapers and TV stations are reporting, maybe you could enlighten us all to what is OK to talk about?
So back to ya...."too hard for you"?
Pretty condescending from someone so "enlightened".

Obviously there were political motivations, but how does that necessarily point towards any one party? It could be a private citizen that is pro Liberal or pro Conservative that has connections with the police force (where apparently, this whole story is common knowledge) that leaked the story. If the Conservatives are going to leak this story themselves, you have to think they would have been smart enough to put a little more distance between them and this smear.

You are asking questions that no one has answers to, and that don't matter in the election. For the purpose or discrediting the opposition. Pure Republican tactics.
And for the record, yes, legalize prostitution. Make it safe for them, and profitable for the state. Longesest profession. But that's probably an accident right?

^ you're saying this isn't a smear campaign? Look, just because Sun News is a bunch of amateurs and didn't release this earlier doesn't mean its above board.
What was Layton doing? All indications are that he was getting a massage. I've made a few cracks myself about what *might* have happened, but clearly no one knows.

Million dollar question...but it could easily be either the CPC or the Liberals considering what is happening in the polls.

one of the articles stated that though there was no arrest, there was a report made about it that made it become public property. Not sure there is any privacy expectations when being investigated for use of prostitutes....particularly if they were looking for underage girls.

He would have to have the evidence and coroboration before making it available I would think...but he is since retired and mentioned that his partner was also around when this happened. There is no law as far as I know that prevents him from speaking about long ago investigations.

It is dumb.
But I don't care.
You obviously do, because you responded. My first message had nothing to do with you.
Any guy would deny it. Does it matter for a leader? What does it have to do with the issues? The election? Why do you argue?
And why do you chase me? 'Methinks he doth protest too much...'
Oh, and I never once mentioned, delivered, quoted... enlightened... though you would be right

So now when I comment on something someone else says during a debate on this board...im "chasing" them?
You hold yourself in quite high esteem I'd venture to say.
If this is an issue for some people...so be it, not for me to decide that. If there were underage girls in that place (as was the insinuation and the reason for the raid) and Jack Layton was a part of them being there by using their services, then yes I can understand why people may want to know that.

No, that's not the reason why and you know it.
You did decide this is an issue obviously already, which is why you responded.
Underage girls, well, this is the first I have been told. And that is serious. But this is the first I have heard, and I will wait and see. I have searched the topic.
And yes, I do hold myself in high esteem, but only as high esteem as you hold yourself. This is proven by your first response to my message, So don't play social martyr my dear. We are of the same cloth.
