If Winnipeg does get an NHL team in the future, there will be players that will play there for the sheer desire to play in the league. However, I do know that there are some players within the Coyotes organization that have settled there families and are in the process or have just built new homes, etc, whom would be less than thrilled with a move to the Peg, as they have really chosen to reside in the Phoenix region due to the climate and lifestyle.
The chicks in Winnipeg aren't just cute, but most of them are actually awesome and down to earth too. Definitely one of the most underrated things about the city.

Honestly man that's pathetic. Glad to see you find that interesting.

On an actual relevant note, Hulsizer left the meeting, did not speak to media.

Left because it was over, or walked out on it?

The ironic thing about inferring a negative stereotype like that is that it perpetuates the stereotype of the intolerant hick Albertan. I'm sure neither group of people appreciate it.

A couple of points about the Glendale choice...

Except not every girl has an infinite number of suitors. If the Coyotes were a girl, they'd spend all your money and rarely put out. Which is why they're probably moving to Winnipeg.

For the record, I think it could have worked in Phoenix. The worst thing the franchise ever did was move to Glendale. That was beyond dumb. It's all well and good to build an NFL stadium in a sleepy suburb; football games are only once a week, usually on Sundays. But an NHL arena is different. Nobody wants to drive 30 to 45 minutes during rush hour on a Tuesday night to watch a hockey game, not even Canadians. And to those Canucks fans who live in the suburbs and make the drive to Rogers Arena for games, you can't deny the Canucks have a huge competitive advantage playing downtown. You also can't deny the drive sucks.

If downtown wasn't an option for the Coyotes, they should have spent some of their own money and built an arena in Scottsdale. There are loads of rich people in Scottsdale. There aren't in Glendale. There are loads of vacationing or retired Canadians in Scottsdale. There aren't in Glendale.

I guess the GI is going to offer suggestions so the team can be sold.

The Goldwater Institute intends to bring some of its own ideas to the table today during a meeting with Glendale city officials and the Hulsizer camp.
“At our meeting, we plan to offer suggestions on different approaches or modifications that could bring the agreement (or a different agreement) toward compliance with the Gift Clause,” said Goldwater attorney Clint Bolick.
I'm very interested to hear how this meeting went.

I wonder if the announcement (either way) happens
1)Before the end of the 2nd round
2)Before the Cup is awarded
3)Before the draft
4)Before Free Agenecy

News conference on now. Clear that Goldwater and Glendale as far apart as ever -- or further.

For some easy listening, you can listen to the entire session by downloading audio files online:

http://goldwaterinstitute.org/coyotes

The most interesting bit comes right at the end (final minute) of part 6 when Mayor Scruggs says "we're 3 or 4 days away from the end" then when pressed on the matter quickly backtracks.

It was pretty pathetic listening to these idiots.. it's clear they have nothing to lose here and any and all facetime serves them well.

I'm more confident than ever now - All bark no bite legally it just happened that their bark was enough to drive away bond investors but legally they don't have a bone to chew

Glendale et all have worked too hard to let this two bit operation be the end of this.. the deal will be finalized and court proceedings will take place in the background

Which, from what I've seen in the past, means that the exact opposite of what you want to happen is going to happen. This is great.

Get your old Jets gear out of storage folks, the Desert Dogs will soon be the Prairie Dogs.

part 5 is hillarious.

GWI produces an email a city of glendale dude send by accident, basically saying he would ignore and screw around with GWI in terms of providing documents.

His response "take it up with the judge"

Embarrasing. I hate politicians.

edit: they then produce a smoking gun showing that glendale owns the parking lot already, and the cog tried to hide it from gwi. the response from the city?

"take it up with the judge"

unreal.

It blows my brains out how truly disconnected with the reality of this situation MOST Canadians are.
