I'm totally like this, with books and DVD's. I never take the top one, usually cuz its probably been handled a ton and thus not in pristine condition. I really inspect the corners of books/DVD boxes, and over-all quality of it(no creases, folds, stains, etc), my gf thinks I'm nuts. Just bought Seinfeld season 8, and didn't notice that under the shrink wrap one corner was brutally bent backwards, it GMG to even look at it now, I keep that end facing the back of my DVD rack so I don't have to see it.
Oh, and for some reason I really like when my DVD inside the box is lined up so the title is at the top, its not upside down or sideways. And of course everything on the rack HAS to be alphabetical. Otherwise chaos will ensue. CHAOS I tell you!! Otherwise it may take a few extra seconds to find said DVD. I shudder to even think of it..

Thank you to the thread starter! This has made me realize I'm not as crazy as I thought.

Keeping my PVR as 'Live' as possible. I know one of its best features is being able to pause for a few minutes while I go do something, but I do everything in my power to get back to live as soon as I can. Sometimes I pretend I accidentially hit the 'live' button so I don't look like a weirdo. I feel like I'm 2 minutes behind the world then, and I just can't have that. Although I can watch a taped show no problem.

Once a year I go through all my CDs and alphabetize them, while wondering how I ended up with multiple copies of things. I think I have Portishead live in NYC three times!

In my closet, all shirts must be facing the same way (left); especially true of hangers that have pronounced bows in them. The clothes are broadly sorted by category and grouped together, though I don't see this as anything OCD, just good organization.
Also, last year I randomly started to spit into the sink whenever I wash my hands. Now it happens virtually every time, and even when I'm doing related things like filling a bucket of water from the outside tap. No idea where that came from ...

Yeah I've thought the same for a while too.
I have trouble buying stuff. I'm the opposite of a pressure-buyer or window-shopper, if a used car salesman tries to make a quick sale, I bail. I like to think for 2-3 weeks before I buy something, even if its $5 (except groceries). I buy most of my stuff off the internet so I don't have to go to a mall or store. When I bought a new car a few months ago (just a Civic, not even new either) I contemplated it for 2 months even though I needed a new car and even my parents told me to buy a new car. Then after I bought it, I had buyers remorse for 2 months after I got it, even though it was the best deal I had found for 2 months.

I'm the opposite, I'm the ultimate impulse buyer.
When I bought my new jeep, it was the first visit.
When I bought my new T.V. same thing.
I hate shopping and shopping around.

Thankfully I'm able to do this for clothes shopping. I can be in an out of the mall with 2 pairs of jeans and 3 shirts in under 15 minutes, parking lot to parking lot.
When it comes to electronics though, that's a whole new story. Even if the product isn't that expensive, the thought of spending "the wrong $200" is agonizing.

My obsession? The Canadian band known as "The Watchmen."
I am constantly looking for bootlegs and rare recordings despite the fact that they haven't had a major label release in ten years.
In 2009, I saw them play in Calgary and travelled to Regina for another show.
In 2010, I saw them twice in Toronto and twice in Winnipeg.
I have an mp3 cd that I made of their major label releases so I could put it in the car. It sees a lot of playing time.
I'm constantly checking their facebook page for updates.
I'm a Watchnerd.

To much second hand stereo equipment, I blame Craigslist personally.
Currently I have 4 pairs of speakers, pretty well all large, 2 sets in cupboards doing nothing, 3 preamps, 3 turntables, an extra receiver, 4 cd players.
Then theres the stuff I have lent out out to mates to clear space, 2 more sets of speakers, another preamp power amp setup.
I have driven to Portland to buy one of the speaker sets, Seattle for another.
Currently looking for another set of speakers, the venerable B&W matrix 802 series 3, which will cost me 1600 plus and is only slightly better than the Kef 104/2's in my front room, which I doubt I will be able to part with either.

Electronics are easy, because its just specs and there are so many resources online (Newegg, Tigerdirect, etc). I'm not a gamer (I didn't even turn on my computer for 8 straight months last year) so the simplest is fine. Gear is also easy too, cause its specs.
Clothes and shoes are a headache though. I get a lot of t-shirts from various competitions or leagues, so I haven't had to buy a t-shirt in years. Clothes and shoes otherwise last long enough until my once a year trip to the mall.
I don't like clutter, so I don't buy very much anyways. I'm somewhat a minimalist.

I used to do something similar, as a child. Usually I did it when I was bored.
I would look at a word and try to find a way to make each letter's number, so to speak, from the addition or subtraction of two other letters in that word. For example, the word collection: c = 3, I can make that from o (15) and l (12). so c, o, and l are done. e = 5. i can make that from t (20) and o (15).....continue. I would get pretty annoyed/upset if I could do any of the letters in a word with this method, and would have to move onto another word.
Thankfully I grew out of that.

I've always been kind of obsessed by how I'm going to leave this life.
Especially after a couple of drinks.

I'm a clicker. It may annoy my coworkers a bit. I click my pen quite a bit and click my mouse button at nothing on the screen.

I am a bit of a germaphobe. I will not eat unless I have had a chance to wash my hands, even if it's to eat something I don't have to touch with my hands at all. I also hate - HATE - shaking hands with people. My hand just feels disgustingly dirty and I will find an excuse to leave immediately so I can wash my hands after touching someone else's.
What it incredibly ironic about this is what I do for a living. When people find out that I hate germs given my job, they always laugh. I won't tell you what I do though, because you would be able to find out who I am that way.

This thread is awesome. Just skimmed it but I'll finish it off tonight.
For me (there's tons) but my big one is doors in my house have to be closed. I hate being able to see into the pooper or pantry when I'm sitting on the couch. People must think I'm a nut when I've got company over. Someone will use the washroom and leave the door open, and I'll leave whatever conversation I'm in, go close the door, and come back to the conversation like nothing happened.

Heh I'm a bit like this too, so I go to extreme lengths to try and avoid buyer's remorse, spending FAR more time on shopping for something than I could ever save finding a deal sometimes, or spending days researching options to make sure I'm getting the best receiver / TV / video card / phone plan / couch / whatever.
I can't stand shopping for things like mattresses where they intentionally create millions of models unique to each chain making it impossible to compare them directly.
