Do you have any weird obsessions or quirky habits, that don't even make sense to you? I think we all do.
What are yours?
I'll start:
I have this weird obsession/fascination with cheap department store bikes. I have a pretty high end Trek road bike and mountain bike, yet anytime I am in a Walmart, Sportchek, Canadian Tire, or any other place that sells crappy Chinese Bikes, I always find myself checking them out as if I were to buy one, which I absolutely have no intention of. I cannot walk past a rack of cheap bikes, without stopping for a good ten minutes, and looking them over for no reason, and contemplating which one I want to buy, even though I won't.
I have a similar obsession with cheap golf clubs. Even though I have a bag full of brand name stuff.
Mine started off as my dog's obsession but I think it has unknowingly become mine as well.
As a retriever she enjoys a good game of fetch and will bring me a toy or a ball or a sock to throw any time I'm sitting down, anywhere in the house and wont stop until I either ignore her or she collapses. So this past weekend I was trying to ignore her while I studied, only to notice that I had been throwing her ball a good 8-10 times before I realised what I had been up to for the past five minutes.
I think my 12 month old puppy has trained me....

so pylon - if you linger over the cheap stuff; how long is a visit to golf town or your favourite bike shop?
anyways - i hate it whenever there is dirty laundry waiting to be done, or clothes hanging that need to be ironed - I like to take care of those things on a regular basis
i also hate it when my vehicle is dirty - i need to be the first guy at the car wash
I have a strange obsession with the colour of my pee.
If my pee is dark yellow I freak out and immediately drink as much water as I can possibly handle. It's not necessarily a health thing, I've been this way since I was a kid.
I have a weird compulsion to do everything in 4's. Say I tap my right hand on my desk, I need to follow it up with 2 left hand taps, then one more right. And if I'm really into it I keep going. RLLR LRRL LRRL RLLR. Symmetry must be achieved!
I hate it but I love it.

Man, my wife is like that, but in 2s. It drives me nuts.
If she walks into a room, she has to flick the light switch twice. When she turns on the TV, she has to do it twice. If she is thirsty, she'll pick ger glass up, take a sip, then put it down and take her hand right off it. Then she'll pick it up again and do the same thing.

I eat each food seperately. I dont care if they touch I just need to finish what I start before I continue to the next piece of food.
and it's ALWAYS fries first
When eating Chicken sandwichs I always pull the bread forward so the meat hangs out the end, then I ensure there is no bite that is all bread and there is a bite that it all meat! I do this with subway as well, pull some of the salami off when I get a spicy italian
My obsession makes me a boring dresser, all my suits are matched to shirts and ties, and when I go to buy new shirts and ties I try to match as close as possible.
I always wear the same shirts or T-Shirts with my jeans.
Same with lie around the house sweats.
Oh and I'm obsessed with a size limit on woman's breasts.
Yeah

I used to be like this....then while trying to change the habit I found myself mixing meals like a shepards pie.
Thankfully I can report a full recovery from both and I eat like a normal person now.

Sometimes if I find a new song or band or album I really like, I'll play it over and over, almost exclusively, for weeks and weeks, to the exclusion of all other music.

I'm just glad my OCD is mild and doesn't affect my day-to-day life. For some people it's utterly debilitating.
I sure hope I posted the right video. I can't confirm though because I can't see youtube from work.
As an aside, they should rename it CDO instead of OCD. That way it's in alphabetical order.

Paradiddles are by far my favourite rudiment. They're so fun!
One of my (many) weird things is that I drum with my teeth aaallll the time. I don't even notice I'm doing it sometimes. It seems I'm always drumming on something, and I know how annoying it is hearing people drum on their desks, so when I just can't help myself, I drum with my teeth 'cause no one can hear it. I used to keep time with my teeth when I was in band as well. When I was at the dentist a few months ago he asked me if I grind my teeth when I sleep or anything. I told him no, not that I know of, and he said he'd never seen such a strangeway for teeth to be ground down. I realized after I left that it's probably from drumming with my teeth all the time.
I also hate feeling like things are uneven. For example, if I do paradiddles off my right hand, I have to also do them off my left. I can't have only one sleeve rolled up, or one shoe tighter/loser than the other, can't have my nails on one hand longer than the other... stupid stuff like that.
