Apparently this ref is red card happy. His stats for red card per match are way higher than other MLS refs.

Hassli with his second red card in three games played. Scores on a spot kick, goes to celebrate with the fans, takes jersey off. Second yellow.

Stupid move, justified yellow. You gotta know better than that.

Caps down to 9 men for a half hour with a one goal lead. Should be interesting.

the first yellow did not make sense to me at all. How did he get a yellow when the Revs got the foul.... mind boggling officiating.

Caps draw last Saturday pretty much felt like a win. Tonight's draw feels like a loss. This one stings, but still damn good entertainment at Empire.

I was casualy watching the game yesterday I don't know much about soccer but why did he get a yellow card for taking off his jersey? I could understand if he was standing there topless but he had another jersey on underneath

Its just part of the rules. 'Excess celebration' or something along those lines. Its a rule worldwide. Take off your jersey you're going to get a card. Its automatic and non-discretionary, the ref has no choice.

Ok that makes sense then. Are you still allowed to pull it over your head and run around with your arms out? I am really liking the mls coverage I wouldn't mind trying to become a legit fan and follow it

I believe that is still acceptable. Strangely enough.

I probably will not be an MLS fan, partly because of hockey loyalites I must hate Vancouver and Toronto. But mostly that if I take on another team to follow my girlfriend might just get fed up. She thinks I'm sports crazy enough as it is.

I know how you feel I wish seattle would be on TV instead of Toronto FC would make it way easier to feel good about becoming a fan

Watching Toronto fail can be a particularly rewarding experience though.

Toronto Maple Leafs
Toronto Raptors
Toronto Blue Jays
Toronto FC

What do all these teams have in common? Golf?

Pretty pumped for the Caps game tonight. Would love to see them get a result on the road, but Houston hasn't got a win yet at home, so they'll be desparate.

Feel bad for Teitur, he hasn't had the chance to field the same squad back to back games yet. Injuries and Hassli being stupid taking its toll.

Home opener tonight for the Portland Timbers vs. Chicago.

I lived there for about 10 years, and I can definitely say that there is a great soccer presence in that city. They deserve this, and will have a great following.

I'm excited for Portland, and if they had come into the league a couple years ago, I'd likely be a huge supporter. The Sounders just beat them to it...

Jeez, why does Vancouver always get sunshine only on Whitecaps game days? Seems like everytime I tune in to a whitecaps game they get great weather. Can't wait to go to the Whitecaps vs Montreal game in May.

'Caps with the 0-0 draw. Not a bad result, both sides had a few quality chances to score, just couldn't put it away.

Disappointing result for TFC last night. Surprisingly good turnout considering the weather but the Reds looked awful throughout. Hopefully they can figure out the problems in the back and Eckersley makes an impact.

I dunno about surprisingly good turnout...it was their lowest attendance in history by a couple thousand people at least (16313)
