Default The Kennedys on History Television

What a huge disappointment. I had been looking forward to this miniseries for some time, but after watching the first 2 hours, I cant see finishing it. The script is awful with absolutely no depth, and the soundtrack will drive you nuts. The writers seem to be trying to fit way too many bullet point historical notes into the show, while sacrificing all character development. I can see why it has taken forever to get this show on the air.

Given how much rich history there is in the Kennedy family, I'm surprised they managed to mess this up.

Maybe some other people disagree, but I'd be surprised if many people out there are impressed with it.

The first two hours were slow, I'll give it a pass because there was a lot of back story to get through. If the next episode fails to impress I'll probably be out on The Kennedys.

If I didn't know any better, I'd say the show was produced by the CBC... especially with the soundtrack and cinematography

Do they talk about Joseph in any depth?

Did they show the part where Joseph sold his soul to the Devil in exchange for power and thus cursed his boys to an early death?

No, but he does play a significant role in the series.

Main premise of the first two episodes is that he was the man in charge all along... which does have some accuracy, but I think a little overblown in this case.

Good call. Tonight's 2 episodes were a huge improvement. A tad melodramatic, but that's what you get from the creator of 24.
