For all I know I'm behind the times on this, but I thought it was funny.

I posted this on facebook and was going to use The Passive Aggressor as the thumbnail, but I realized someone would likely take that as a message to them and get offended!

I've experienced almost all these examples and solved it pretty easily.

Save yourself the drama, don't unfriend, just remove them from your news feed. Some people take facebook seriously and unfriending them might actually burn bridges.

I'd suggest that those are exactly the kind of people who you should be burning bridges from.
Unless there's professional implications (in which case you're the idiot for adding someone from work) people like that aren't worth associating yourself with most of the time.
If Facebook is that serious a business that you actually
a) notice when someone unfriends you
b) have a hissy fit over it
then you have issues.

I don't think it's wise to burn bridges with anyone. It's so pointless, unless the person is having a negative effect on my life.

Take for instance my friends Wife, I see her occasionally when I see my friend. She spends way more time on Facebook than I do (which is saying a lot). All her status updates are either passive aggressive girl drama or posts about how her life is messed up and its soooooo hard.
I could delete her, but it would cause a whole ####storm that I and my friend (her husband) would have to deal with. Not worth it, but still a relationship that isn't as annoying off Facebook as it is on. Hence why you keep her but ignore her updates. Now I've deleted people I never plan on speaking too again from High School and the like. But this case is different. It is nice to have that second option.

This is a life saver, and easy to do.
On the News Feed page, click the "X" in the top right of the message, and select "Hide all by . . ."

I've hidden over 100 people from my feed. My goal is to have it empty one day.

I got confronted last year by a girl who I unfriended. I couldn't believe someone would bring it up and be angry about it. Then she added me back and I had to accept.
I also discovered you can block all their status updates, so job done there.

Just tell folks that you only use FB for 'close friends and family'.

How the hell do people even tell that they deleted you? I've seen fb drama and the one girl knew about the deletion hours later!
You must:
-Regularly take attendance/role call of your friends list or
-Visit the page of everyone on your friend's list, every day
-??
I don't know how they do it so fast. I don't think I would notice for at least a week if even my girlfriend deleted me off facebook, let alone someone I don't particularly care for.

For some people, Facebook is:
a)SERIOUS business
b)The only way to contact anyone anymore. Forget email, phones, texts, in-person visits, etc.
I gave up Facebook for Lent and my last message was, "Here's some different ways to get hold of me if you need to." My birthday happened during this period, and my wife says that people (some of whom, like aunts, should really know better) have bothered her on her FB page telling her to wish me. Wouldn't a phone call or an email have been easier?

That is just effing brutal! I didn't pay my internet bill for a couple months and Telus cut me off. I'll be paying it tomorrow but with the regret that a month without internet at home has been kind of awesome.
