See that's the kind of thing pot activists say that annoy the hell out of me.
Like it makes any difference if a chemical is "Synthesized" or a plant.
You know what else is a plant? Tobacco
You know what esle is a "Synthesized chemical"? Every medication in your medicine cabinet.

It shouldn't matter if it's pot or anything else. If someone who pushing 30, or even out of high school, does anything to be cool they are a loser. Plain and simple. That includes the almost 30 who go out and get black out drunk every weekend.

Speaking of annoying things people say...can't think of one case where someone used radioactive fertilizers to grow marijuana.

If you want to smoke, you have to deal with shady people in a (potentially) violent world.
If you want a gun, you write a test.
Dunno.....seems a little illogical.

And people will inevitably troll said 420 thread, probably because it makes them feel cool or special or superior or something like that.

Says the guy who just put up a post about some of the horrible stuff dealers put on their pot and how legalizing it would clean it up for everyone.

You know I've heard this Radioactive fertalizer thing about a million times and no one has ever been able to actually show me anything that supports it.
And for the record, yeah, depending on how much of each there is, Raid could be a lot worse than some radioactive fertalizer.

Legalize it, tax the crap out of it and use the tax to payoff the national debt.

You're making a pretty drastic assumption that drug use increases with legalization when most studies seem to show the opposite. FTR, I'm fine with the legalization of all drugs, provided they aren't being given to minors. People will find ways to do drugs if that's what they choose to do. I've never had any desire to do heroin, but it has nothing to do with heroin being illegal.

I know where you're coming from. Freedom of choice, but the fact that so many of the drugs that cause psychosis are by far the most addictive leads me to argue that society would become a lot more dangerous. At least now for the most part users of the worst drugs are forced into hiding by the law and by stigma. I don't know how I'd feel knowing that walking down the street in broad daylight that anyone passing by might be high/wrecked, broke, and looking for a fix.

Just look on google...there are a ton of reports and studies on the subject.
And I'm sure Raid can be bad, which is why legalizing it and regulating it would be positive. Then it will be grown the right way instead of the cheap way.
If you properly flush a marijuana plant for 7-10 days all the products used to grow it will be gone by harvest.

I think the other factor in this is what pot used to be versus what it has become.
the concentration of THC in todays hydroponic grown stuff is probably about 1000 times more than it once was. Now I agree that restrictions on it should it be legalized would go a long way to controlling what is consumed, but just like you aren't allowed to make 99% alchol content moonshine because it is so potent, then the same would apply to pot or any other drug.
I am all about getting the stuff legalized and the black market getting curbed as it does lead to very very violent things happening. Im not so fond of the gov't getting tax money from it only beause they screw everything up when it comes to that, but I digress. I am merely pointing out that it is not as simple as 'lets make it legal, I can get high, Harper makes money, everybody is happy". There are all kinds of permutations that have to be cosidered.

A scientific study published in 2000 in the Journal of Forensic Sciences (JFS) found that the potency (THC content) of confiscated cannabis in the United States (US) rose from "approximately 3.3% in 1983 and 1984", to "4.47% in 1997". It also concluded that "other major cannabinoids (i.e., CBD, CBN, and CBC)" (other chemicals in cannabis) "showed no significant change in their concentration over the years". [49] More recent research undertaken at the University of Mississippi's Potency Monitoring Project [50] has found that average THC levels in cannabis samples between 1975 and 2007 have increased from 4% in 1983 to 9.6% in 2007.

Well slap my ass and call me Sally.
A 5% increase sure seems like it is much much more. One thing I do know that what was considered high-end stuff even 30 years ago compared to todays stuff is like the difference between sipping a wine cooler and slugging back 6 shots of Sauza.
