It is official the Islanders are in the playoffs for the first time in 7 years. Belanger and Pyatt led the way with 3 points each while Kunitz helped with 2 of his own. In an odd stat Vrbata had 4 shots blocked in only 7 minutes of ice time.

Nolan, Green and Stajan lead the way for the Sabres in a solid win over the Blues. Steen and Bailey continue to play well with their extra minutes with Elias out, however his return appears imminent. With 94 points Sabres still stuck in 4th and cannot move up, but hope to hold off the Bs and Isles for home ice advantage in round one.
