Frankly, there is waaaay more Conservative biased media in this country then Liberal biased Media. Seriously the whole QMI Media Chain, all the old Southam/Canwest papers, and to a lesser extent CTV.

Frankly, I find it hard to think of a station (CBC) that gives such a high profile to Andrew Coyne (Who's pretty conservative, small "c") and Chantel Hebert (No friend of the LPC) such a high profile as all that biased.

But evs, if you want surefire neutrality you're pretty much stuck reading the G&M and watching CPAC.

No, that's not what majority means.

This came up in another thread a while back, and I really agree with you.

The reality is that the CBC has an inherent left-leaning bias.....so what. It's not overtly trying to manipulate (Fox News style), and even makes reasonable attempts to offer balanced perspectives. Great broadcasting imo.

Well, when compared to Sun Media, a blank page would have a left-leaning bias. If the complaint is that taxpayers are paying for the CBC, almost all public broadcasters (ie PBS) have a centerist/leftist bias. Nature of the beast. But I get most irritated by corporate controlled papers being propaganda mills for any given party (Sun for Conservatives, FOX for Republicans).

So it doesnt bother you that taxpayer money can fund a left leaning entity that not everyone agrees with.....but it does bother you that private money can fund a right leaning entity they all agree with ...with their own money?

yikes.

That doesn't make any sense at all.

No it doesn't. In the context of Canadian politics a majority means controlling 50% + 1 of the seats (and consequently votes to maintain confidence) in the HoC. The entity that wins the most seats could be a majority or a plurality.

What a joke of a paper.

Uhhh...the actual story behind the headline. You know, the part that explains everything.

I havent seen the front page, but there is a whole lot more to any story than a picture and some sensationalistic headline. Those who don't delve deeper than the cover usually don't have all the information.

Sigh...yeah you got me, I had no idea what a majority in Canadian politics meant.

Lemme ask you this...which party has won the majority of the seats the last 3 elections?

None of them. The Tories have won a plurality of them.

I see...so its semantics we are going to quibble over.

OK then....lemme re-phrase. For 3 consecutive elections the Canadian voters have voted the Tories in plurality to govern the country.

I don't see it as quibbling I see it as just being accurate.

Two elections. We've had three elections where the party that was only able to acheive a plurality of the seats formed government but only the last two were Tories.

When a newspaper has WWF Wrestling as the cover story, it's trash. I have to agree.
