Default Drupal

If anyone has Drupal experience and may want to donate a little time to helping a non-profit society transition its site to that medium, give me a PM.

Thanks

What if I said this particular non-profit has a basement full of nearly expired beer from an overly optimistic dance committee that it might be willing to part with - to some extent - in exchange for a few hours of community service.

Yes, free beer to see the dancing frog . . . .

I tried to set up Drupal for a non-profit a couple years back. Was a disaster.

I've set up a few Drupal sites in my day but unfortunately I'm not in a position to donate my time anymore. Drupal can be tricky if you don't work with it consistently. Hopefully the group has a member (or members) that are willing to put forth a little bit of time.

We do have an experienced Drupal user - for his various business sites - so that's helpful, and access to the professionals he's used to set things up, etc They are building the site for us, top to bottom, so we expect things to be fairly complete when they arrive. We'll test drive it first obviously.

In spite of that, it might be helpful to have some professional expertise lounging in the background that's local - the design, coding team is offshore - and could come out for a visit perhaps to take staff through things if it came to that.

For adding new modules, revisions to template, etc, we'd probably go back to the coders, even if we felt we were competent.

I just see this as an early days thing to make sure everyone gets off to a good start. If we can find donated time that would be great but we are able to pay if we get into the position and need to.
