This is what ESPN says, it's an insider article, so I can't even read it.

Sportsnet confirmation as well.

Looks like Hillenbrand will be the player moving because of the logjam.

At least he has some value to other teams - the question is though, what kind of player will he net us and will it help our OF?

Hudson is a tough loss but at least they got the slugger they needed. Wells will be alot better this year with Glaus batting ahead or behind him. The only questions I have now are who will be starting at C and LF and where will Hillenbrand go.

Shaping up to be a great year with Glaus, Wells, Overbay, Koskie, Adams, Hill and Rios as our hitters.

Really a pretty solid lineup I won't mind watching bat one through 7. Didn't see it posted here but it was rumoured the jays were after Molina to platoon with Zaun a few days ago as well.

I would think the Field will be the same this year as it was last year.

LF - Cat / Johnson
CF - Wells
RF - Rios

Catcher - Zaun with the rookie.

Hudson is a tough loss defensively, but we have a good kid to take his place, and dealing him did land us a good power bat.

Glaus will be playing 3B full time as well, it is rumored that as part of the deal they were not going to DH Glaus and have to start him at 3B most of the time.

Chances are then, Koskie will be the DH (or split time with glaus on occasion).

Might as well say your goodbyes to Hillenbrand/Hinske now. However, it is a MAJOR upgrade over either of those 2.

Wow, sorry to see O-dog go.

I guess this means Hill at 2B now. I'll be happy with 37 HR and 97 RBI however. Great move by JP.

Ok, so this is the first move by JP that I really like as a non-Jays fan. This is the big bat that they have been missing. Batista will not be missed and O-Dawg's offence is easily replaced by Hill but it sucks losing his defensive play.

I love this deal, Batista will not be missed the O-Dog has zero offense sure he is a great defensive 2B but they need offense. Not to mention Hill is a good defensive player and has way more offensive upside.

Plus the prospect is a good player as well (coming to the Jays).

I'd suggest that Adams play 2B and Hill plays SS.

Adams has a bad, wild arm, and would look better as a 2B.

Hill played much better at short stop than Adams did in limited time.

Obviously the Jays disagree.

Adams has better range than does Hill.. and IMO is why he'll be at SS.

I know Adams has better range, but Hill has the arm to play deeper at the SS position ala Cal Ripkin. He was one of the most effective shortstops because he played so deep and had an absolute gun to make up for his lack of range.

Not say Hill has the gun of Ripkin, but he could still make for a very fine defensive SS. I think his upside at that position is higher than Adams.

Adams did look like crap defensively last year, hopefully he improves if it is their intention to play him at short. Either way it is a great middle infield for the future, both their swings looked very impressive last year for rookies and they both had good composure at the plate.

Adams and Hill both look like 2b to me.
JP has to have something in the works to get rid of the log jam at first and Third. At one time the Twins were interested in Koskie going back to them.
Hopefully it is Koskie or Hinskie going out of town.

Likely it is going to be Hillenbrand and Hinske(or at least him on bench duty).

As well, with the Twins signing of Tony Batista, it looks like they found their 3B.

But Hillenbrand and Hinske for who? Sorry if it was mentioned earlier in the thread 'cause I didn't bother to read the whole thing.

At this point, it doesn't matter.

Just getting rid of those 2 contracts would be the top priority. Hillenbrand has some positive value whereas Hinske has some negative value.

I don't think either could be traded for much of an upgrade in the Outfield. I mean would you give ABs to guy who is below league average and has reached his peak or would you wait it out with a guy like Rios who still has some (dropping fast) upside.

I just don't see Sheas value as all that good, at best you have some league below league average corner OF or a young guy probably behind Rios in development.

Or do you keep trading the farm? Hillenbrand + a prospect could probably get you something alot better.

Hillenbrand's trade value is higher then Hinskes or Koskies. I'm still looking forward to watching Koskie this year, if he's healthy for the full season I really think he can add something to the Jays. Last year was not the real Koskie.

Man looking at our potential lineup, I've got to say this could be the Jays year to grab a playoff spot.

I don't see JP moving Hinske if he has to take a hit on his salary, he will be coming off the bench if the jays need to pay him to play elsewhere. Hillenbrand has real solid value, I think he, Johnson and a prospect would get them an everyday left fielder assuming there are players being shopped. I am surprised they got Santos in the Glaus trade, he is a really good shortstop prospect, former first rounder with some power. He still has some holes in his swing though and is a couple years off.
