Might be an interesting read for you. What everyone has suspected about those type of restaurants for years, is starting to come to light:

Lol I can't believe they actually wrote an article about that.
They might as well have wrote an article about the sky being blue.
I like how they talk about ugly woman not getting jobs, but ignore the fact that men are mostly not hired for that job.

ps - pylon, what does 110 mean? I got hired on the spot so nothing was on my resume but j/w

Drawing a straight line diagonally between the 1's spells out NO. It's so they know not to call them back.

That is because this behavior is perfectly acceptable in our society.

Worked there for a while as a server and as a bartender. I do have a firm behind but my chest is severely lacking so I can't comment how that affects tips.
The place is decently busy, especially around the holidays and in the early evening. One of the nice things about Moxies is that it is really dead after the mall closes, which means you can still go out with friends in the evening. You get a busy dinner rush then things die off. I found the worst part about serving to be when it is dead and you have to stick around making practically minimum wage.

If it helps, I always tip more to the servers who draw the little happy face on the back of my bill.

This thread needs more pics of 110s so we can see how fair the practice is.

Aw man! I always thought 110 meant "rate yourself out of 100 for coolness." I've been writing it on all my resumes!

I dunno why anyone bother's go eat at places like Moxie's. It's barely a step up from McDonald's in quality.
Just stay away from chain restaurants - they all suck. And I'm a firm believer in the prettier a girl is, the less competent they likely are (social programming and how they have come to expect to be treated). So the hotter the waitress, the less service I expect. (I hope to be surprised however... then big tips )
But then, I doubt I'm Moxie's target demographic. I remember when they were a family restaurant rather then trying to out-###### Earls.

What does a Moxies gift certificate buy you at this location?

Me and my wife went to the Moxies on 17th ave last weekend and I was quite surprised that they didn't seem to hire on looks at the particular location, or at least that' particular saturday night. None of the staff had that jailbate vibe and most of them were just average looking people. The service was better than usual as well.

part of it depends on the location, being on 17th, the natural draw for servers are people in there mid 20's and hotter girls are pouring drinks in the bars. Out in market mall / crowfoot etc, where it's a lot of suburban families, you get more kids from 16-20.
I remember 110 for no and 115 for yes at the restauraunt i worked at, you can fiddle the 115 to make it look like a YES. Luckily we had a decent night manager who enjoyed smooth friday and saturdays, so even though there were a lot of hotties on the staff, it was the servers who were capabale working the busy nights. I remember a couple fridays and saturdays where there were only one or two girls on the floor. Then again, because we were out in the NW most of our clientele were families anyways.
Apologies to all the guys coming into our restauraunt those nights for the eye candy.

If you want eye candy - go to the strippers. I go to a restaurant expecting good service. I don't care if the girl/guy is a 3, 5, 7, 9 or a 23, just make sure my glass is always full, you know what the soup de jour is and my steak is done properly.
Hooters and clubs are the exception here - and so they should be. When it comes to sitting down and eating a nice meal, it better be delivered with some competence - and by someone who's boobs stay in their shirt and hair isn't falling into my plate when she sets it down in front of me.

It is interesting how many men think a hot friendly waitress really likes them.
