I really am thinking it's less and less likely we're gonna see Hudson moved. I think because of the trade value he has, Jp has dangled his name out there to see what the response would be. Not many Jay players have the kind've value he has in an open market. Unless JP gets something big from trading O-dog I think he'll be staying in TO. He doesen't make much and he's the best defensive 2nd basemen in baseball.

Apparently talks with Texas have soured. In a TO Sun article today, JP said The Rangers were just looking for too much for Wilkerson or Mench. He said he will be looking elsewhere for his bat, but said he will "definitely not" be considering the Dodgers Milton Bradley.

The Jays have a ton of white players compared to african americans causing people to write articles and so on. It's defintley not a "real" issue and has no merit in the clubhouse or with the orginization.

Bradley goes to the A's for prospects
http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/5164460
As for the racism thing - last year Bradley accused Jeff Kent of being a racist - he also referred to an African American LA Times reporter as being an "Uncle Tom"
He has all the tools - unfortunately nothing in the toolbox

JP isn't gonna give up Hudson unless it's a mindblowing offer he's said now. Which is smart, look at the second basemen in this league, with what Hudson brings to the table he's better then most.

I thought it was that. The whole "White Jays" thing was a load in my mind as well and I was indeed aware of the Bradley/Kent thing. Glad the Jays stayed away from that one!
Seems like a decent number of teams are needing second base help lately. Maybe the Jays could take advantage. We'll see I guess!

Another weird rumour take a look at the link.

I would of thought if a GM contacted a player on another team this was a bad thing to do.

JP is doing a greay job of talking to everyone in regards to Batista. See whats out there and what teams are willing to offer. Should be exciting to see.
I think if JP can just add one more bat. This isn't an offseason filled with #3 or 4 hitters. Next year who knows but for the time being I think the Jays can compete if they canland one more bat.

Correct me if I am wrong, wouldn't that be considering Tampering?
Calling an MLB player's Agent saying we are interested in you? While you are still under contract to another MLB team?
Wierd.

Isn't it only tampering if a team complains about it?
Considering the Jays are trying to move Batista they may not care and actually encourage it if it will facilitate a trade for Batista.

Even still, it just seems really strange to do.
Batista is getting up there (going to be 35 before the season starts). So why would you be contacting his agent? An Extension? Not likely at that age.

Everyone has a ton of white players compared to blacks, because the percentage of blacks in baseball has been declining for sometime as kids turn more and more to football and basketball as their sports of choice.
The best part of the White Jays articles was that the neither Griffin nor the Star's editor could respond to my emails reminding them that the Blue Jays were far more diverse than the Toronto Star's sports department was.
That was one of the more hypocritical assualts ever made by the worst newspaper in Canada.

Maybe to renegotiate and spread the money over more years. Who knows. I do agree that it is a bit strange but if you are trying to moe a guy then I imagine the Jays wouldn't bother to worry about any "tampering" charges against the Mets.

It's been pretty quiet on the jays front for a while, hopefully that means o-dog is staying but I'd still love to see Hinske get the boot. If they go with the current left fielders I'm hoping Reed Johnson gets a chance to play everyday and get in a groove. Latest speculation is about Matt Lecroy, not really worth adding for anything outside of depth IMO.

The article about the "White Jays" was an okay article, more lamenting the fact that the Jays didn't have the Dominican scouting like they did once upon a time. However, the decision to put up a bunch of pictures of the team's faces (like mug shots) under the title "The White Jays", was rightfully lambasted across the city and the country. Quite a few people cancelled their subscription after that mess, and the paper apologized.

Well I don't know if anyone knew about this, be apparently the Jays(for some UNKNOWN reason) are pursuing Troy Glaus?
This is what ESPN says, it's an insider article, so I can't even read it.
EDIT: Found a link

Unless Glaus can play OF, I don't see where the Jays would have room for him.

I would imagine they would move him to the OF. Not exactly a difficult position to learn. Or he moves to DH.
He would add some nice power to the heart of the lineup and can get on base, but he strikes out a TON
