I don't pay too much attention to the required run rate. As long as the chasing team keeps it under relative control (ie. keeps the score ticking over) it isn't hard to get 8 runs + an over in the last 10 overs if most of the wickets are still in tact. I don't understand what Misbah was trying to do either... he wasn't even pushing for singles most of the time.

Another good matchup on Saturday, some great batting will be on display I hope.

Well, some team had to lose. Too bad it was Pakistan. Their fielding did them in. Tendulkar was dropped what 4 or 5 times? Ridiculous. Anyway, congrats to India on the win! Looking forward to the final it should be a good one.

Of course, you will know more about cricket than I do, so I'll take your word on it. It always looked like India had things under control though.
Yeah the required rate even if maintained around 7-8 is alright since you do have big hitting and PP coming near the end. It was just ridiculous the way Misbah went about it though, like ChuckieNZ said he didn't even want singles. Credit to Indian fielding, they were exceptional out there but Misbah made it quite easy for them.

Indians have a hard time defending 300+ scores let alone 260 so this was ery gettable target that Pakistan really failed at.

But Congrats to India and good luck to them in the finals.

The pressure is on India, and especially with the final being in Bombay. However, they have been under a tremendous amount of pressure all through the competition and they persevere in their final test!!!!

Congrats to India on the win. They outplayed Sri Lanka. Must be tough for Sri Lanka as they have now lost their second final in a row.

So proud of my boys!! The cup is home after 28 years! Such a great feeling. I called my cousin's in Mumbai to congratulate them and man was it ever loud in the streets! Wish I was there to celebrate with them.

Best feeling ever was to see Sachin Tendulkar finally hoist the cup. During the post-game interview they asked one of the players why did they carry Sachin on their shoulders after the win and the reply was 'He has carried the burden of a billion people for 21 years, its time we carry his'

GO INDIA!!
