What they're saying seems correct. If you have no plan you no use for a sim. Just get them both when you need them.
Thanks. I already got the SIM card 'cause I thought I had to. I guess I'll just leave it until I need the data plan for my next trip to the Excited States. I guess I'll need a U.S. SIM card for that.
Okily dokily.... I can't play the latest games because I don't have the latest OS. However, I use my iPad for presentations that require DisplayOut, so I *NEED* to be able to jailbreak (why, oh why, would Apple not allow DisplayOut in the app store?!? - or better yet - include it as a feature app!!).
So if I go to iTunes, it wants to download 4.3.1, and there is no jailbreak for 4.3.1. So the question is:
- Can you get 4.3 somewhere?
- Any word as to when or if there will be an untethered jailbreak for 4.3.1?

4.3 adds display mirroring to the iPad for you, so you don't need DisplayOut anymore. Unless you're using it for something other than just displaying your iPad screen through a projector or TV/monitor.

The web pages I am reading say that display mirroring is iPad2 ONLY.

Oh sorry. I didn't realize mirroring was only for iPad 2. I just remember thinking it was cool the adapter works with both versions, but it seems it only does video output from iPad 1.
I think I'm locked in for 64 GB minimum from here on out - can't imagine having only 16 GB. I had less than 10 GB left after I synced the new 64 GB model with all the gaming/apps I have currently. Totally see that as a personal thing though.

And worse still, many of my presentations are in community centers with old TV sets, so I need be able to use my composite out cable.
So that brings me back to the original question - can you download 4.3 from someplace, or do I have to wait for the 4.3.1 jailbreak?

Yes you can download 4.3- but to restore to it you have to have the appropriate "SHSH" blob, which you would have needed to save. Without that, it won't allow you to get to 4.3.
If you were previously jailbroken the SHSH *might* be there. To find out download a program called TinyUmbrella.

Sometimes Cydia will save hashes for future firmware, which is why you might get lucky. You cannot "upgrade" to 4.3 without the SHSH, since to "upgrade" you use Restore in iTunes.

How major companies aren't employing this guy is baffling.
No kidding. His way of doing 3d is very clever. The major limitation is it would be 3d for only one person at a time, but his solution is still better than the 3d glasses solution IMHO.
Does anyone know of a free app that would let you create an account you can log into and manage a fake stock portfolio. ie putting in price you paid for a stock then showing what the current price is for it and track it that way? Even if there isnt an account log in that would still work. Can you do this with the bloomburg app?
