It takes about 20 minutes on the way there, and then 20 minutes home, providing the weather is cooperative.
Some winter days it can take 30 minutes.
As it is all open highway, it is a relaxing drive that mellows me out before I get home.

Driving is 13-17 minutes.
Transit is 35-50 minutes, depending on luck with transfers.
The reason for the long transit time is that it is a 2-transfer trip and that my workplace is in one of the worst-served (and serviceable) established employment areas in the city that demands one of:
- More than one transfer
- Doubling back across your path
- Both
NE business park that is about as far away from an LRT or BRT line as one can get in this city in an established area, shortest-road-path-wise.
Living closer is not an option that would provide an appreciable difference in commute time, especially when relative to the trade-off of moving further away than all other amenities (grocery, entertainment, cultural, etc.) that I am close to now.
My ideal solution would have our company relocate to a different space. West of Deerfoot would be preferable, but really, even a move of 10 blocks in any one direction would improve my transit commute considerably. I think downtown or Beltline space is out of the question for the company I work for, but would be the ultimately ideal situation for me.
All in all, it's really not that bad.

Cranston to City Hall in about 50 minutes.
Bus to Somerset and then train down. I don't think I could drive even if I had a spot. Deerfoot and Macleod both suck.

8 minute bike ride in good weather, 15-17 minutes in killer head winds or deep snow.
22 minute walk
11 minute bus ride
3 minute train ride (with 8 minute walk + waiting time)
4 minute drive, plus time to park somewhere and walk.
I stick with biking or walking exclusively unless I'm really sick or hurt or something. All the rest just feel like a waste of money, especially when the bike wins over almost all scenarios in door to door elapsed time.

Westhill to Woodland area: 25-30 minutes on a good day each way. First snow of the year or massive snow storm, then 2 hours each way.
Just waiting for SW leg of ring road to open up to cut that commute time(might be waiting for a long time). I was used to 5-15 minute drive in Winnipeg so doubling that was a bit of an adjustment when moved here. I would rather move if I had to drive 1 hour each way.

When you take transit you almost have to subtract 5 to 10 minutes from your total time to compare it to car folk.
Car commuters generally count in Car time whereas transit commuters count house door to desk time. At a minimum that difference is 5 minutes and possibly more depending on where you park
Door to Desk (or where ever you actually start work) is the true measure of time. For me I am 45-50 min from Bridlewood to downtown via park & Ride and C-Train barring C-Train delays which I would say are less frequent than traffic delays.
I used to read and surf the internet a lot at home. Now I do that on the train. So while not the most productive time it sure beats driving. If I had to drive to downtown I would have to move but since I get the seat for sure on the train on the way there and 50/50 on the way home the train is pretty good for me. I also nap on the train, although for the first time ever I slept through downtown and woke up in Sunnyside.

I'm a 15 minute walk to work but lately it's been 20 since I've been stopping at Tim Hortons on 12th ave.
I use to live in Arbour lake and that commute to downtown was about 30 -40 minutes a day each way and it was brutal. I will never ever live in the burbs again after experiencing the difference and reduction in stress from living in or around the core.
When I leave work I want to be able to relax and the thought of rushing home in Calgary's traffic almost makes me sick to my stomach these days.

Commute to Calgary = ~3.5 hours direct flight with WestJet
Commute to work = ~10 minutes. With this view:
Commute times can get ridiculous here. Transit in North San Diego is basically non-existent. Except for the few who bike the freeway is the only way. When we moved here living close to work, reducing commute times was a must. Of course that comes at a cost.

takes me an hour and a half to get to the university at non-peak times. An hour to drive there and back at around 9am.
If i had to be on deerfoot at 7ish... it would take me a good 2 hours.

I live about a 2 min walk away from work....sole decision was to move close to work to avoid the communte....it used to take me 75 min to get to work one way, never wanted to do that again! Such a waste of time...

Chinook Centre, to Northland Village Mall, 15.8 kms, 20 minutes in the AM, 15 minutes return trip in the PM. Going against traffic both ways. The only place I ever seem to get held up anymore is at Kensington road, and if that happens, I just shoot down Memorial to Shagannapi trail.
Living through the whole Glenmore/Elbow rebuild was hell, but now, it's awesome. Aside from a couple on insignifigant ones going south on Elbow, there is only 3 traffic lights between me and my destination.
Plus figuring out e right lane combos has managed to shave off a few minutes. So many dumbasses, stay in the far right lane between 14th street and Crowchild North coming of the 14th st offramp, and sit there in bumper to bumper for 10 minutes, while the left lane is usually wide open. Same goes for Bow and crowchild offramp. Merging is not that difficult folks, and most people will opt to let you in if you just commit. What is the alternative? Getting side rammed?

My commute is probably between a 5-10 drive. I work at a golf course..so we start the season working 9-5 and we work our way down to 6-2. So for the most part im driving to work before 6..so theres little to no traffic.

About 25 minutes, mostly highway driving in from the country into the city. To another office, the same time, but more traffic lights strangely.

45 minutes from Millrise condo door to sitting at my desk downtown. It seems like a long time, but when you are on the train it's easy to pass the time. The walks from the train to the office/condo is really what tacks on the time. If I were counting like the car people do then I only take about 25 minutes (physically on the train)

20 minutes by bus in the mornings
45 minutes walk in the evenings. And the walk home is all uphill north of downtown.
