Ha, on my way out the door now. London Drugs just called and I'm on their waiting list for a black 3g, 64gb iPad and they have it there now. Joy!

Future Shop (Northlands had about 10 iPad2 at lunch). Only 3G model was the 32GB and they didn't have any white colored ones left. Mostly 16GB and 32GB wifi. 64GB sold out at the time.

Bestbuy Westhills had a bunch of Ipad 2's today at lunch. No 64 GB models but a fair mix of 15/32 GB 3G and Wifi both B/w.

I checked one out today. Faster for browsing, and a bit nicer to hold in my hands, but not something to drop an iPad 1 for. I'll wait til 3 to upgrade.

They have their strong points and weak points. On the plus side, they're easy to put on and take off and they work perfectly for standing up or for typing. On the down side, they take some getting used to when you have it flipped around and you're just holding the device in your hands.

Just reserved a black 16Gwifi from Chinook.
The online reservation has all models except 64gig wifi available at Chinook right now.

I think they are initially neat but fairly disappointing overall. No protection for the back. The magnets do provide the cool on/off feature but don't hold it in place very strongly. Flip the iPad upside down the cover pretty much flops off. And there is some (minor?) talk about how the hinges might scratch at the contact points - no idea if they are valid though.
Mind you, I'm a "little" OCD about keeping tech stuff shiney and new!

Picked mine up. After a couple days with it, the ipad 1 shows its age a bit.
Honestly, the speed and weight upgrades alone make this a good purchase for me. Cameras are nice, but the device feels like it has evolved nicely.

First post from my ipad2. This thing is awesome!
Picked up the 16gig wifi. Confirmed with the mac kids geek squad employees that 3G is a waste of $ if you're already on a good data plan and can use hotspots from your phone. As long as you'll always have your phone with you when you need it.

SIM question here.
I just got off the phone with Rogers and Apple (started with Rogers and they transferred me to Apple). I was trying to set up my iPad SIM card. The Apple guy told me that I can’t register my SIM card until I take a data plan, but I don’t want the plan yet. He also said there is no need to register my SIM card until I have a data plan.
I only want a 30-day plan when I travel because otherwise I just use wi-fi at the office and at home, otherwise I have absolutely no need for a plan.
Is what the Apple guy told me correct? Do I have to even activate this SIM card or do I just wait until I need to buy a 30-day plan?

What they're saying seems correct. If you have no plan you no use for a sim. Just get them both when you need them.
