Signed up for Twitter this weekend since I picked up a Torch..
I was tweeting about the night out with my buddy Saturday and it worked out well because I was able to piece together the night the next day from it. Ha..
It is great for following bands, I always thought facebook was good but realised that a lot of the bands weren't updating that as much as twitter.
I added Russic as well, lets see what this is all about!

I regularly beak Dan O'Toole and Jay Onrait, along with other TSN on-camera staff just for fun. 3/5 times I get a response back. Love twitter for that, following bands, and staying in the loop on sports.

What is the little blue outlined check mark mean on some twitters?
Does this mean it is confirmed to a certain webpage or...?

It means Twitter has contacted them and the account is in fact who they say it is.

After a couple years on twitter, I still find it annoying that there isn't a way to "filter" out hashtags you don't want to read about. I know from my experience, when I go to a conference or a talk, that some people don't want to see my constant tweeting of the talk (and likewise myself). It'd be amazing if a 3rd party could building something for that.
