I love extra spicy caesars. Although not in Calgary, the best I've had was at GlenEagles golf course.

Caesar's are most definitely my favorite cocktail. I love how you initially get flak for ordering it (when all your buddies are grabbing Coors or Bud or some other piss).
Then they all order Caesar's on the next round. Except for that one idiot who decides to pour his Miller into a glass of clamato... srsly... wtf
There are two things that bug me about bartender made caesars.
1) they serve it with a straw. And rim the glass. So you have to remove a wet straw and leave it on the table to be able to drink it properly. Silly.
2) The drink is not 2/3 ice - stop being cheap and make it properly. The Keg is especially bad for this.
The best caesar I've had in a long time was at a place called the Bear Street Tavern in Banff - just last week actually.

Best Caesar in Calgary is served at the Reef N Beef in the NE. I have been going there since 1987, I drive across the city from time to time just to have a few.

Just 'cause you don't like it, does not mean it is a rookie move.
I usually go with: the more vodka, the more Worcestershire sauce. Takes the bite out of a triple-quad ceasar.
A rookie move is using 1 oz... (this is different because it is true)

Horseradish is a nice touch. How about wasabi?

Not sure what it is about Hudsons' Caesar, but it's addicting... I wouldn't even say its the best tasting, but I can't have just 1 of them when I'm there.
Other than that, my favorite ones are the ones I make at home.
Approx pint glass size
~1.5-2oz Vodka (Polar Ice usually)
5-6 ice cubes
4 shakes of Tabasco
~4 shakes of Lee&Perrins Worchestershire
slice of lime
3 shakes of caesar rimmer into the glass (I prefer it just in the glass than rimmed)... i forget the brand name, i get it at Sobeys
fill rest with Motts Clamato (quick pour which stirs it pretty well)
two of: pickled bean or asparagus, or my mom's homemade dill pickle slices.
I've been meaning to get some good horseradish/wasabi to try at home. When I've had caesars made with this at restaurants I've always enjoyed them.
mmm... dammit now i want one.

- 3 dashes of Frank's Caesar spicer
- 6 dashes of worcestershire sauce
- dash of caesar salt
- 1 teaspoon of pickle juice.
- 3 cracks of fresh pepper
- 3 cracks of fresh salt
- Fill glass with Mott's Clamato Original Casear
- Then ROLL the contents 4 times. Roll meaning: pour into one glass, and then back into your original glass. This allows for better mixing than stirring.
- Salt the rim (if you want)
- Garnish with pickled asparagus and a slice of pickle
- ENJOY!

Holy salty, do you need to have a litre of gatorade on hand when you drink this? The pickle juice sounds really tasty though, I'll have to give that a go.
Also, whenever I order one at a restaurant or bar, I always ask for it unsalted. I don't need my Caesar glass smeared in the bacteriological cocktail that's contained on the salt mat thingy. I'm pretty sure there is flesh eating bacteria in most of them.

Earls and Loungeburger come to mind. Also Mott's Spicy Caesar in a can or bottle are actually pretty good. They've got a nice mix of ingredients in there.

2 amazing Caesars here in Calgary.
A great evening Caesar at the Yardhouse in Kensington. You order up their Montreal Caesar with a pepperoncini garnish. Extra spicy if you're me.
Next morning, the cure to your ails is a Caesar at Dairy Lane on 9th St. Fantastic and saves your life.

Yes, Lounge burger and Tommy Burger both have Ceasar menu's with several different types...
I like the Palomino, they use the same house spice on the rim that they use as a dry rub on their ribs, chicken and pulled pork. Plus horseradish and a pepperoncini, if you ask they might even throw a bacon slice in there for you
I prefer the more creative ones, the just plain celery salt is kind of ghetto.
The Distillery used to make a B-L-Teaser, using their own Bacon Vodka and house spices (similar to montreal steak spice) but I don't think they have had the Bacon Vodka for a while...
Ceasars out of town -
Ferris' Oyster bar in Victoria BC, - comes with a shrimp , a bean, celary and a raw oyster in the shell on top
Double Down Saloon (New York City & Las Vegas) this is where the Bacon Vodka was invented, they don't have clam but will do a kick ass bloody mary, everything the same tabasco, worchester, except no CLAM (tomato Juice) but a pepperoni stick and the bacon vodka, definately make up for the lack of clam

This sounds good with Clam. I can't stand Bloody Marys.

I'm the exact opposite, I sometimes ask for it with extra rimmer. It's such a letdown when the waitress brings my caesar and there's next to no salt on the glass, just a pi$$-poor attempt at rimming.
Actually one place I went to used sea salt instead of celery salt, surprisingly good! ...But I have a serious salt problem. Don't have a sweet tooth at all, but I'd eat a whole bag of salt if my insides would let me.

When in Vancouver, get a Caesar at Rodney's Oyster Bar in Yaletown. It's thick and filling and awesome.
When in Vegas, go to Fusion Mixology Bar in Palazzo and have a Bloody Marry.
Closest you'll get and damn good with fresh ingredients prepared every morning and skilled mixologists putting good efforts into the drinks. Great way to start the morning after a heavy night.
It's a small unassuming bar in the middle of the casino, with electronic gaming machines around it. Doesn't look like much, but has the best drinks I've had in Vegas. Plus, if you put some money in the machines while you drink they'll usually comp the drinks.
Thank me later
