Also, where's the best place to get proper dashkits in Calgary (I have an '01 Acura EL)?
I was also hoping to get my Sat radio plugged directly in the back of the new stereo (just using the fm transmitter right now)
Or if anyone can recommend a good place to take it, and what's the typical rate to get a stereo installed?
Thanks.

Hey Just wanted to know how the new CD player is working out and if you have figured out all of the different features yet? Did you get the subscription set up for the satellite radio?
I will look into those speakers for you this week.

I just had a dash kit put into my Accord and a CDA-117 installed. I also have a IPOD attached to it (the kind where you can navigate songs directly through head unit) and Sirius built right in. That is for sure the way to go.

For sure. The intigration add-ons that are out know are pretty cool and convienient. Also make driving much safer. I had put a deck into his Acura on Friday but he had an external Sat Radio that he wanted to run through the auxilery port. What kind of car did you put the unit into?

I wasn't into using my aux port for the Sat, I prefer the built in Sat so I can control everything through the face. I put my system into an accord coupe.
I am having a few issues with my steering wheel controls, hope to solve that soon.

Yes. What year, make and model is the vehicle? What brand of deck/navigation unit are you looking at putting in?

Wouldn't be a problem to do. I am assuming you have the non navigation factory radio in the car. Is it the sedan or hatchback?
When looking stick your major name brands. I have always liked Pioneer navigation units for ease of use and overall quality of the unit. I currentley own a Kenwood that has navigation and it is a pretty simple and good system to use as well. If you are looking at or find a specific one and want some non biased feedback let me know and I would be happy to help.

(Personal experience) The late Subaru NA radios are slightly larger than double-din, so you must either
a) use an adapter plate
or b) order the japanese center console piece, which is double-din (costs more and is more work to install but looks cleaner)

it is a little larger and does need a dash kit to fill the gaps around the radio. in the end a really clean look for an aftermarket deck with a dash kit. thanks for the info on the Japanese piece I will be sure to keep that in mind when suggesting.

I love it, man! Going to sign up for the Sat radio tomorrow, but yeah, it looks oustanding.
If anyone needs any work done, I would highly recommend Pilsner12. You get professional work, but get to chill in a lawn chair, drinking beers instead of dropping your car off somewhere.
The only thing that's tough to get used to is taking off the faceplate everytime I get out of the car. I can see myself getting lazy and leaving it in after awhile.
I'm also really pumped about getting some speakers. Thanks for the great work!

Most kits are Plug and play, if you can change tires you can put a new stereo in.

Not why you're not taking it off, but why it needs to be taken off?
